humalog question

Just got my humalog from an international source. It took 5-7 days to get to me. It was shipped with a cold pack, but its not effective for 5-7 days. I put my humalog in the fridge immediately when I got it. Will it still be effective, or is humalog so sensitive that it could have denatured and lost its potency in transit from overseas? Thanks...

i doubt it. i'm a diabetic and i can leave my insulin in my room for a month and it still be fine. it will lose barely any, if any potentcy being in my room like that, over a month. i have actually read that if you take enough insulin to use a bottle every month you dont even need a fridge, just a room temperature area.

so, after 7 days, i think not. even if it got hot, it proabably is still good.

I have some humalog now that took 5 days to ship with ice pack. Mine is fine so I would think that you should be ok. I got mine through a reputable pharmacy. If there was a significant chance of it losing potency then I dont think they would offer to ship it, so u should be good to go. Good luck and be safe with the slin man. It is some serious stuff.
