HUGE Phobia

Ok...I got a problem and I need the brathers help.....I'm 6'2. I've been training for about 7 years and made some nice gains. 3 years ago, I was a solid 250 with probably 12-13% BF.....no real sight of abs, but strong.....bench was around 375 and I did cardio probably twice a week, while eating the ol college buffet three times a day........booze was also frequent (maybe a party or two a week - hey, it was college!) Anyways, when I got out into the work force, I decided to diet. Long story short, I'm still 6'2 (LOL) but 180lbs and 5-6%bf.......deep six pack. My diet is strict as hell, I weigh everything, low-mod carbs and fats..high protein. I do cardio first thing in AM 5-6x per week and lift just as many in the PM. Here it is....I want to get back to 225, but I can't EAT! It's the phobia of losing my six pack that's KILLING me. Such a f-ing mind game.....I have the gear, T400, Sus250, Decda, winny, EQ....and the knowledge, but can't break the damn FEAR! HELP!

If your BF is that low and your that cut you will probably be okay to start your cycle.

Stay away from simple carbs and fats. Stick with meat, chicken, fish and the incidental fat that comes along with them. Then for carbs avoid everything white, go with unprocessed stuff. It's easier to keep bf low through a cycle if you start that way, plus with such low Bf it is really easy to see if you are starting to put on fat and to make quick changes to the diet. For me, for instance, I can readily see (in mirror) the difference between 6 and 8% and 8 and 10%. Once I get to 12% though, I can easily coast on up to 16% before I look and the mirror and realize things have gone horribly wrong.

my advice would be to continue on the same path diet-wise for as long as you can stand it and then only deviate when you add the gear by adding more protein and more healthy fats (at a 2 to 1 ratio). maintain the same carb intake because you are used to that and that's served you well to this point. the added good fats and protein will not make you fat but will provide what you need to add lean gains. take it slow and you'll do fine. finally, have a cheat day (carb-up day) once per week for when the low carb thing begins to wear on you.

I hear ya man, but I'm not into the no carb thang.....I like moderation and that's where I'm scared to put on the chub. Not scared, per se, just gotta beat the mind.......

Stay lean bro. I'm at 250 lbs now. Last summer I cut way back in size... dropped down to 210-212 lbs.

I got a hell of a lot more compliments, looks, hot babe interest etc... at 210-212 lbs with washboard abs than I do at 250 lbs with 12% body fat.

why can't you just continue with what's been working for you to this point?

SofaGeorge is so right, the babes likes the lean bro's, there's no doubt about that.

Eat the same and cut out that am cardio 5-6 times a week bullshit then if adding calories is such a psychological block for you. Losing a workout day probably wouldn't hurt either.

If you used to be 250lbs at 12% bf 3 yrs. ago and now you're 180 you have a major muscle memory bonus on the way cycle or no cycle.

6-pack can always be reattained bro...eat up.

Lean and too damn skinny are different....I'm 6'2 180.....sure I'm diced, but feel frail........need to be 225 to be content....can't ditch the cardio...where would you add the calories??? You guys eat/drink every 2-3 hours or more frequent???? I'm every 2-2.5, should I be consuming more???? Much karma boys for the help!

JKurz1,

wieght = 180

Maintinace Cal intake = 2160

Cutting Cal intake = 1800

Bulking intake = 2700

60% Protien
30% Carbs
10% Good Fats

For bulking it would look something like this:

Cals from Protien = 1620 / 405g

Cals from Carbs = 810 / 203g

Cals from Fats = 27 / 30g

How about that Karma? :-)

I think I need MORE than that to bulk.......cardio in AM and train in PM......but, I sit in my office all day, so maybe so......fats are way to low......

40 this is really good advice:) My man at 6 foot 2 you need a little more meat on your bones. you should be able to hit 210 with abs intact. It is really hard on the body to stay ripped year around. I would also suggest that you start with a low to moderate gear cycle, not to exceed 600mg total per week, 400 would be better.:)
