but i swear i read on hucks fina site that once converted it can sit that way for a year, but made no mention of what the tabs exp date had to be in that case, so im trying to figure that one out.'

LOL,that's not my site bro,that's Mr.H's site,haha...It will still be good for a while past the expiration,just keep it at room temp.6 months to a year past the expiration and some of the potency may degrade slightly,but there will still be active drug.
