HST for on cycle gains?

Hey guys and gals. Does anyone have any real world experience with HST training while on gear? The site seems impressive with scientific backing for all the principles. I really don't want to waste potential gains on this 12 week cycle as i only want to do 2/year. I work 12-16 hour nights so with erratic sleep habits i'm prone to getting rundown quick. What do you think? Much appreciated.
 
Basically 3 total body workouts on Mon/Wed/Fri focusing on compound movements. Each body-part is hit with 2 sets and the reps start at 15-reps/ for 2 weeks then 10 reps for 2 weeks then 5 reps for 2 weeks. For each 2 week block you establish your max weight for the desired rep amount and then assign that weight to the FINAL workout in the 2 week period. You then decrease the poundage by 5 or 10 pounds for each previous workout. They call this principal strategic de-conditioning and it's based on the fact that your muscles respond to increasing the weight over a period of time even if its not pushing past your max. They say that all this has been proven in muscle cells microscopically. Apparently this really only works for muscle size and not so much strength. Here's the site:
