HST and roids

I've been readin on HSt and will try it sometime in the future. I am curious how the training might differ for someone on roids. Would you increase volume and decrease recovery time? Can anyone that has done this offer advice?

Well, we are about the same size, so I don't think you need my advice. . . But I do something like hst with aas, but a 2 day split to give more old-school volume. But I believe in maintaining a frequent stimulus. I do like 2 sets of 3 exercises for each body part I'm working. Its hst, but I split the full body in half, since the factors leading to hst (satellite cells, igf, etc) are mostly local, so the 48 hours is local. GH and test are factors in trad hst, but if your test level is artificially 9 to 10 times high all day, there are no peaks and troughs that are meaningful to "catch". I like it. And interestingly enough, its arnolds old olympia routine, chest/back am day 1 , legs am day 2 , shoulders/arms pm day 2, repeat . . . As hst says, you start to realize why old routines from the past worked or didn't . . . I will tell you this, I hit a plateau even with aas and hard training, and since i hit the first week of 5s with this hst, I have hypertrophied and my weight is up 10 lbs so far with less aas than before (just 400deca ew and 20 dbol ed)

You can do the regular program with nothing more than an increase in volume and see great results.

casualbb sums it up right (as always). (correct me if I'm wrong cbb) Hardrock, hst is about a stable, effective stimulus for hypertrophy. You don't work out a body part once every week to allow for "recovery", that's the whole point. You use a 48 hour window of effective hypertrophy after a stimulus, and reload the stimulus. So, . . . if you work 1/2 the body every day, you have a stimulus every 48 hours for each part, but twice the volume of a traditional, non-aas, hst program. Off cycle, I cycle down to a traditional couple of hst microcycles with 5lb increments instead of 10, and forced negs instead of 2 week of 5s and weight increments. Is that clearer? And shit man, I was skeptical, but this is no joke . . . I'm swoled up!

Right, I train each body part 3 times a week, and do up 2-6 sets per muscle group, and have made continual gains while juicing. I do alot of supersets, drop sets, forced reps, forced negatives, etc, and as long as I keep the volume very low (althought higher than HST) I do not get over trained on aas. So you may wish to either increase volume or frequincy from HST. You could try hitting a muscle group 4-5 times a week, rather than 3, and still do everything else as a standard HST on a higher dose cycle and not over train, while making continual progress. After all, that is the primary reason we use the drugs. Quicker recovery.

I'm sure growth has nothing to do with it. :D

I kid, I kid.

I'd say if this is your first HST go-round you really should stick to the basic program. Try starting with 3 sets of all compounds and 2 for isolations. That's already getting to be a lot, but if it still doesn't do it for you, you can add more sets at your discretion.

I mean, Boris Kleine, the unnofficial HST spokesman (German heavyweight champ, lean 250 lbs) is on almost all the time, and he still only works out 3 times per week, he just uses high-ish volume. His routine is actually pretty basic:

3 times per week fullbody:
3 sets bench press
3 sets shoulder press
3 sets squats
3 sets deadlifts
2 sets barbell curls
3 sets chin ups
