So based on a bunch of us posting lately I decided to post up this thread, I'm not a beacon of light when it comes to relationships, no one fully is, however it is well known that as humans we make bad things big and good things small (examples: 10 Cognitive Thinking Errors :PowerStates) hence the term the grass is always greener on the other side.... yet there has to be a point where we differentiate if the grass is greener only at the neighbors, is is it greener EVERYWHERE, is my grass not greener because I dont take care of it, is my grass fading away even though I put effort into it, etc.

Let's all take a step back and look into our gardens :)

For the past couple years, I happily report that my grass is the greenest in town. I wouldn't change a thing in my life! It sure feels better to be thankful than sore-headed, which I'm also all-familiar with. And let me say it takes a lot of hard work on oneself, and a lot of pain along the way to get to this point.

I've been trying to get through New Mood for awhile, it's a 700 page workout ... fairly exhausting

Amazon.com: Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy Revised and Updated (9780380810338): David D. Burns: Books: Reviews, Prices & more

I've recently rated as "moderately depressed" after completing his 21 question inventory (BDI) :(

Beck Depression Inventory - DSM, therapy, withdrawal, people, used, personality, score, health, mood, Definition, Purpose, Precautions, Description, Results

I sometimes feel the need to test the grass! Even knowing that if I'm taking care of my grass it would be the very best.

Never trust self administered tests....

Agreed!

Then again, I wouldn't trust "administered" tests evaluated by "experts"

Although the BDI has limitations I think it's a good comparative tool relative to itself over time.

Developing CBT skills isn't an easy process, but I think it is the most effective bibliotherapy available.
