How'd I keep the status bar on Internet Explorer 6?

I cant finds the option anywhere to make the status bar a default.

It's beginning to piss me off having to select it from the view menu everytime I want to see if a page is loading.

It only stays for that window.

When I open another window, I have to go to view-->'status bar' to bring it back up.

Computers are so shit.

Close all you windows and have the status bar open on the last window closed. Windows seem to remember the last IE settings.

Thats what worked for me. Windows XP is the devil.
