How to use WinMX??

Sounds like a stupid question huh? Ok, I am connecting and typing in my search list, get a long list of names, but when I double click them and they go into my "transfer" file, they never download.

I get messages that say "busy", User offline (even though that user is at the bottom of my screen downloading from MY files.) "Canceled", etc.. Why can't I download anything? Is there anyway (i.e. technique I can use to increase my chances of actually getting a download? What am I doing wrong? And how can I tell prior to attempting to download something whether or not it will be available?

because most people on winmx dont want people to dl from them..seeing as they want theire bandwith for themselves..just keep searching ad you will find a computer with out a user..and it will let you dl.

EXACTLY!!! WTF is this que shit? How can I stop people from downloading from me? I mean if you are not going to share with me, you ain't getting none of my files.

Right now I have about 6 that are downloading from my computer. I have about 30 in that fucking queue. All saying Busy.

on the search screen, scroll to the right, and there should be a tab where it says status/server. clicking on this will bring all of the files that are ready for download to the top(the color should be from green, to yellow, and then red). it should say something like 4 of 4 ready, and so forth. hope this helps

Well the first thing I say do is when you seach for a for a file, sort your results by availability. Then try downloading the most available. Once you have some files it's easier to trade. You can communicate with other users on Winmx. Everyone can see what everyong is sharing and I like that. The thing i like most about WinMX is it's all trading. So when you are just starting it tougher but once you starting building a collection it's that much easier to get more. And WinMx has the largest variety of porn and no can can dispute that.

After you do a search to the far right, you may have to scroll right, you'll see a tab that says status/sever, click that tab. You may have to click it twice. The search results will be sorted by availability. Available measures how many download someone allows versus how many he has going. Green means more available. And on a bad note the available listing are the most up to but they are better in going into download blind.

The fast track like kazaa, old morpheus and grokster are more user friendly but when you get the hang of it you get more out of win mx. And I do still use grokster. I'll put it like this, hard to find files go to win mx. For more common file using grokster or maybe kazaa lite (I used it but someone likes it).
