so, that article is advocating not letting people get a divorce unless both parties agree to it. So, essentially, one party would be the property of the other -- not free to leave the marriage unless they grant them permission. Clearly, the article was written by some fundamentalist fanatic.

I think this is only a tiny piece of what's going on. The more the gov't tells us what is ok to do the less free you are. It makes no difference what it is about. Our country has gradually sold our freedoms out in order to feel like they are safe and secure. In fact the more dependent we become the less stable we are. Gov't involvement in marriage? Isn't the idea of marriage based on religion? Why are they involved at all?

Absolutely - and it's only getting worse. What's more important - total safety or your freedom? I vote for freedom.
