How to train someone that's uncoordinated

I had my client do legs today, had her on the leg extensions. got her up to 3 plates and a 10 on each side, not bad for her. Anyway I tried having her do lunges, and at first she had to hold on to something on the side. Then I told her to just do bodyweight lunges and get used to that because thats the only way shell get better at these. Correct?

What can I do to get her more balanced and coordinated before I have her doing db lunges and squats?
 
jump her straight on lunges and light squats. Best and fastest way to learn is to adapt and she will... even tho she will have trouble for awhile.
 
that's the problem.. lunges.. what were you thinking... athletes that train every day can do lunges, other wise its' hammer strength and then a pull up.. then we can go to free weights..

that's the way to success..

I hear ya on the coordination.. i have a spasm i'm training now.. 1 hr 3x week... oh man..

wait whats hammer strength? lol yea this girl is so hard on herself I really want her to be able to start doing lunges so she can boost her self esteem... she says shes been doing them for 4 months now and still is uncoordinated

sup man, thats what i was thinking just have her do bodyweight lunges and practice going deeper and deper and keeping her balance... its like riding a bike at first youre all fucked up then it becomes second nature, i think thats why machines are so bad because you get to sit down and relax

hahah poor girl. have her hold onto a steady base for awhile and then when she's not expecting it. kick out her hold in the middle of a lunge. that'll teach her. lunges are hard tho.
shit well i'm off to the bar, not to drink of course, not since i decided to run the dbol and test e. haha

what i do for confidence building, especially in women is work them on the seated leg press, i have a 52yr old woman that does 400 lbs for sets now.. she weights 125 lbs... i might have to start her on 5x5 training soon..
