How To STOP Being Controlling!!

My girlfriend complains that I am too controlling.

I dont know what to do I think it is a habit that I have gotten into and I dont know how to get out of it. If she wears something that is revealing in anyway I basically flip out and wont even speak to her at all. She said she cant deal with this etc.

I dont know what is wrong with me. For example if she has cleavage showing at all, or her stomach showing at all, etc. I wont even talk to her at all. I really dont have any idea why I am like this I feel like I just am. Is this crazy or what?

I just dont want her looking sexy or revealing to anyone but me. Is this bad? How can I stop? I feel like if she wears anything at all with cleavage like EVER I will go crazy it will be a huge fight.

Are you sure man? Because it seems like she thinks she has "another Dad" and bla bla bla. I dont know what my problem is. For some reason I just feel like I cant deal with her wearing anything revealing in public. I told her I didnt care what she wore around me.

Its just that I dont think she should have her stomach and cleavage hanging out of shirts etc. She said that thats "in style" and that "shes 18 years old." And that she doesnt want to dress like a Grandma. How can I get across to her that I dont want her dressing like a Grandma just not wearing anything revealing.

i think if she really wants to wear clothes and that they aren't really that bad (i mean, jerry sringer type material), then she should be able to wear them without any hassle from you. choosing the clothes she wears is one of the ways she expresses herself. as her bf, i think you should be able to except that.

now, if her dress is on or has crossed the border of uncessary scandalousness, and she doesn't have the respect for your wishes of her covering herself up, that is a different story.

Good post rippedtrojan. I have to admit that what she wants to wear really isnt THAT revealing. I mean some of the shirts show cleavage which is something that I personally dont find very conservative thats all.

I know that she should be able to choose what she wants to wear. But you would think since she knows that I hate shirts with cleavage that she wouldnt want to wear something she knows that I personally find skanky or whatever the right word maybe.

this is a very one sided statement bro. you make it sound like her feelings on this subject don't matter.
 
Thats exactly what she says. Her opinion on subject does matter I just feel like mine should matter too. I dont know what would be the comprimise?

That she could wear anything that didnt have cleavage. Because not all of her shirts have cleavage. I mean I dont know. She said all she really wants to wear is whats in style she said she doesnt want her boobs hanging out.

here's an exercise to try:

every time you see her wearing a shirt revealing the least bit of cleavage, find as many chances as possible to enjoy it. tell her (and yourself. yes, inside your head.) that she looks good.

after a while, you may find that you do not find what she wears to be so bad.

You should seek counseling whenever you have the money to do so. But uuntil then, if you can't even sit down and discuss this "probem" with your GF, then you probably shouldn't be togehter.

It's juust to petty to cause such fights as you describe. She doesn't sound like a total slut, however she should respect your opinion. As you should hers. The ground for compromise are only something you and her can figure out -

personnally i dont think youre wrong for telling her that MONSTAR...if shes dressing provocatively then its to get other guys attention..and not just yours...that probably makes her feel sexy...being oggled by a bunch of other guys.....thats wat i think...and if shes that kind of girl then maybe you should drop her....
