How to move cheaply??

Never Enough

New member
What's up peeps?? My fiance and I are starting to plan our move to Houston, but damn moving is expensive. Does anyone know of some cheap ways to move a 2 bedroom apartment and one car?? Thanks!!

Other than renting a truck and doing it yourself, there is no cheap way. Movers get money for a reason, it's hard ass work.:(

Those bastards want about $1500 dollars. That doesn't include gas or any of the moving supplies. Dollies and moving mats and all that shit is extra. What a rip off!! Thanks for the reply though argent. :)

big4life, you must of been typing while I was. Know of any place to rent a cheap truck. Shit, I don't mind the moving part, I'll just consider it a workout. Besides it's not that bad with a couple of buddies some beer and a joint or two or twelve!! :drink2: :havoc:

Ryder and uhaul are the only two I know of. How far are you moving?

They want to charge you $1500 to rent a truck? You should be able to find one for at least half that, I would think.

Harrisburg, PA to Houston, TX. Yeah $1500 for a Uhaul! Talk about getting raped! Wouldn't be too big of a deal but we are getting married this year and are paying for it ourselves so that really puts a dent in the old wallet!!

Moving is expensive. No way around it. Moving trucks are kinda like plane tickets so the cost doesn't correlate with distance but I know a one bedroom truck from Atlanta,GA to New Haven, CT was $600 or 700 from U-Haul and Ryder was about the same. So that doesn't include gas or man power.

I'm like fuck moving. Next time I move I'm paying somebody. I not dealing with that crap anymore.

It's tax deductable

keep in mind if you move " for a business related reson"...i.e. you get a new job there in Houston, it's good enough....I know you can write off $1000.00, but it may actually be $1500. That will atleast save you some money in taxes next year when you do the.
