How to lose fat

LosinWeight

New member
I am a 19 year old male weighing 225 and im 6'2''. I want to get my weight down to 190, then I can start working on toning up and building muscle. (I dont want to be a bodybuilder, just look good)

I am wondering what the best way to lose this 35 pounds would be. I have recently started lowering my caloric intake per day.

Are there any supplements that will help with this?
What workout routines would help me lose fat the fastest?

Thanks for any help.

im 6'4" 219 and i could stand to loose 15 more pounds, so 190 isnt a bad place for him to start

you should first focus on getting your diet and workout in order before turning to supplements.

i don't mean to burst your bubble, but with a good diet and exercise regime you could very easily lose 30-35 pounds.

Protein, Glutamine, EFA's (UDO's Choice- stuff increases my endurance)... and just lift about 3-4x a week, and cardio (atleast 45 minutes 3 times a week). Its not too hard, just stay disciplined, ie Write your goals on a paper and tape it on the fridge where you have to read it every time you think about cheating and eating more than you need too. Only eat for what you are about to do, never what you just did, except for weight training, where you need to consume protein after lifting. Just make a goal, stay disciplined and stick to it, you should be ok.

you should worry about getting stronger nevermind looking good.

id start at 200. im 6'0 and 180. i think 20lbs pounds with 2 inches taller is a good place to start.

I've already started doing a better diet. I dont have access to a gym at the moment, which is my main problem.

I can actually go to one, except only maybe once a week or so with a friend.

I lifted weights about 2 days ago and my arms are really sore, I benched 90 pounds 100+ times in a few minutes. (Yeah, way too fast) If my arms are really sore (I'm talking pain, I could probably max out at 50 pounds today) should I keep doing it (its been 2 days) or wait until they arent sore anymore?

I am about to go do the treadmill, is there anything to eat before or after that will increase or speed up the effects of the workout?

Thanks for everyone's help. After a few weeks I plan on posting my results and letting everyone know how its going. I'm not trying to be a bodybuilder, just have low body fat and some visible muscles (not huge ones)

I would do some light cardio, around 30 minutes on an empty stomach, or atleast under 200 calories (at the max). I normally get up around 6am and run before my 8am class, run around 2-3 miles, about 20-30 minutes for the nice 400cal (around there) burn, then lift in the afternoon. But if you can, do the cardio first thing on an empty stomach (minus ECA if you need it).
