How to cycle t4

t4 is 1/4 the potency of t3...i think your dosages are too low. if you are going to use t4 then id do...

Make sure its t4(Synthroid) and not t3(cytomel) which you have.
 
T4 is pretty weak overall. This is good and bad:

Bad:

- Even 100mcg per day will give modest fat loss benefits
- T4 can have a nasty break-in period that, despite it's weaker potency can be as nasty or nastier than T3 - sweats/flu like symptoms/lethargy / shutdown/etc

Good:

- 100mcg is relative equivalent to 15-25mcg of T3 which, over a long period of time (months) can have noticeable benefit

- The likelyhoold of any gross thyroid damage is low since T-4 is inactive and your body probably won't convert much more than what would give a high-normal reading on a blood test - meaning there may not even be any throid suppression when getting of (maybe)

- Once you adjust to T4 it's very good to keep energy levels in check when in an overtraining period. I know this from experience.


So you say "Cycle"? I'd rec. going several months at 100mcg if that's all your going to take. Obviously T3 is a differen't ball game.
 
Well, I can't remember all the technical details, it's been a long time since my research on this, but T4 isn't even really 1/4 of T3. T3 can be used by the Thyroid for anything, T4 must first be converted to T3, and isn't always converted, and isn't always useful for whatever purpose the body needs it to be. Suffice it to say, T3 is a much better choice for predictable results (my opinion based on research).

Now, as for dosing, I don't think 100mcg/day will do much for you. Over several months, well, yeah, it'll end up like Syntrax's Sythroid (was that the name of it?) and probably give some noticeable results. I'd run it closer to pittsburgh's cycle recommendation, but keep it going for a longer period of time, maybe that 2 to 3 month timeframe. You might only use 400mcg/day.

I've done a 3 month 400mcg/day cycle of it, and it seemed to aid in fat loss, but nothing dramatic. I also consider that a pretty safe dose. My recommendation, try it, start at 100mcg/day, see how your body tolerates it, and increase dose from there. I also recommend doing a LOT of research in web searches on T4 and T3 and reading real research articles, most likely not even pertaining to bodybuidling, to find out what the medical community has to say about the compounds.

I do not recommend T4 as it has a long half life of 6 days .
In fact I do not recommend T3 either.
The thyroid is very easily screwed up permanently, unlike the usually resillient HPTA...trust me bro I known.

I know of two bro's that are now on T4 replacement because of thyroid hormone usage in the past...and they knew what they were doing

Damn, dude, that sucks for you.. I'm glad you're handling it. As for your bros, I know everyone's different, but they must have done some crazy shit or stayed on WAY too long. You know any details on that?
