i dont cook fish much if im not grilling and i've got some tilapla fillets and need a good way to cook them without using the grill.

any suggestions?

Bake at 375 degrees F in a baking pan for about 15 mintues.....

get a bamboo steamer from china town
thow some ginger and lemon peels into the some water
place steamer over water
place fish in
steam 15 mins
pour alittle soy over it
enjoy

tilapia is a very mild flavoured fish with a delicate texture
it could be coated with a bit of flour and sauteed, breaded and panfried, egg battered and sauteed, grilled, steamed, or baked
takes well to traditional flavours such as dill, tarragon or lemon
but can handle asian and mexican flavours too
even cajun
blackened tilapia is pretty tasty but does not allow the delicate flavour of the fish to shine
so the choices are up to you
if you do blacken it a mango salsa is a good match

Ben Kenobi, you rule, others drool.

I have experimented and found that sauteeing it in an olive corn oil mix then flipping it and adding cut shallots gives is a great flavor also i put in some chives at the same time. this works with alot of fish

How are things in the Northland, Chef? Whats the deal with the two gigs?

Okay..

Take some fresh herbs, Choose the ones you like..

blend them up with some olive oil, garlic, almonds.. Make it into a paste

Then coat the fish on oneside with it.. place it in the oven with a little water in the bottom of the pain.. Cook unitl flaky.. serve with wild rice and fresh veggies..

my girl cooked tilapia last weekend. she crushed corn flakes and added garlic salt, parmesean cheese and an egg. cover the fish in that mixture and fry in EVOO it was the shit
