How to be a bouncer

chirp chirp

Since the advent of gunpowder guys like this pose little threat .. if they do it's olny once ...

In the city i live , there was a bouncer well known in the community as a multi level black belt in a dozen different martial arts .. alway went to swinging first instead of talking out the situation .

Well he was shot point blank in the face with a 45 by a 95 lb chinese crackhead with just enough strength to pull a trigger ... in todays world you want to throw your weight around in a bar as a bouncer be prepared for the repercusions because the buzz word in todays world is revenge and revenge does'nt need any fancy martial arts training .

Gone are the days i grew up in when two guys duked it out and left it at that ... today the guy who gets beat comes back with a weapon or friends ... your better off to walk away nowadays then roll the dice .

Very true. I try to avoid a fight at all costs. Nothing to prove. If someone were able to beat my ass and I didn't provoke them, you bet I'd hunt them down and extract my revenge.

bas rutten is a colorful mofo.

"i'm sorry sir but im going to break your leg"

i's love to spar with if him he'd promise not to break anything on me or attack my joints too hard.

dullboy trained for years in a mixed martial arts style based on ju-jitsu and judo that's very similar to his mixed style.

That's why I never threw a punch. Always grabbed and carried, or talked. At the time I knew who was into what and after knowing dudes with guns and machetis (sp?) have comeback to take out a bouncer who beat the shit out of them, I'd just as soon let one of those morons take a bullet than me. I worked with some real fucking morons over the years. So many boucners i wanted to beat the shit out of myself for hitting someone unnecessarily.

I asked one simple question and it always worked "Can I call you a taxi or an ambulance?"

Yeah he does MMA, some clips I've seen him in this funky custom, but yeah, I've seen some of his with bare fists fighting people, pretty raw.

bouncers? hit people unneccessarily? NO!

i find it revolting (literally. i feel quasy) that some absolute scum is in charge of security at nightspots. young girls go there, viable men go there...and you ahve this neanerthal thug being super sober and super aware of the scene...so many opportunities for thuggery eg ask a drunk to call a cab, as soon as they fumble the phone out of their pocket, open handed slap to the head (so the guy drops the phone) and they collect it.

gets me feeling a tad violent just thinking about it, really..

The head bouncer at a hot downtown spot was stabbed and died a few years back. I noticed he would get "physical" the instant he asked some drunk twenty something yuppy professional to leave. When the place stopped being as upscale and went on the "slide" he got physical with the wrong guy, just released from prison, and ended up dead.

Bouncing is a great profession, you get to feel like a tough guy
I fully support someone engaging in a legal business/profession they find fulfilling. However, I've wondered "why" every time I see the balding 40 something year old juice head bouncer who has been doing it for twenty years; I guess some mysteries I'll never understand.

I have done work as a Bouncer. I can say I'm great at it, one of the best Bouncers in NY if I say so myself. I'm able to talk somebody down and have them walk out on their own behalf without laying a single hand on them. "Hey buddy, is everything ok? come on, lets go outside and get some fresh air so we can talk about this."

I can take an angry drunk and talk to him all the way till he gets into a cab and thanks me for the "help" .

It is easy to beat people up, I can teach you that in a couple of months... Being able to communicate with others like a person even when they are drunk... I don't even know how I do that myself.

I know I'm getting some kind of training. I don't know what it is yet.

One day if my time on Elite Fitness were to come to an end. My Resume would look something like this:

2003- ????

Elite Fitness
(http://www.elitefitness.com)
P.O. Box 1264
New York, NY 10113-1264

Marketing & Affiliate Manager / Community Administrator.

- I was Incharge of Babysitting an online community of over 35k Unique Visitors per day. Mostly Adult Males between the ages of 18-45 who ingaged in internet wars and conspiracies against eachother. My employer made me incharge of resolving disputes and getting everybody to kiss and make up. So they can start up again with a different member every month. I was the Major decision maker in determining which members were unfit for the community or created a Hazard for the company, and decided on the best way to dispose of these individuals as nicely as possible, as to not create any problems that might disturbe the Elite Fitness experience for other member that were not interested in Drama, but actually work out. ( It seemed that out of about 40k mostly quiet daily visitors, it was only a pool of about 200 frequent posters that created most of the problems ) :chomp: It should also be noted that while I was trying to protect company assets, some disgruntle members (Most of them under the influence of Anabolic Steroids a Dangerous Illegal Drug Clinically proven to cause Rages of Violance in its users) threaten me with physical harm, which has kept me motivate to continue to practice MMA as my main hobby and the pillar of my weekly training regimen and become a Gun owner very active at arms combat training seminars. :chomp: :chomp: (I demand Hazard Pay for Future Community Administrator Postions, request company pay for my training and and put in writing a contract where the employer promise to provide 24hr armed security at my home upon request...) .

I am also Capable of writting very convinsing essays explaining the Administration's decisions explaining policy changes and member banishment decisions."

That was just my first draft. That was a little brain storm... It would still need some serious revising. I havent' even touched on the Marketing Manager Part, where I have to deal direcly with small business owners and be the middle guy between them and the company.

LMAO. Those are some wise words spoken from a man who has been there.

That guy is definately a fighter and knows how to take care of business when it comes to hand to hand. It also seems like he may first resort to violence as a means of resovimng a dispute instead of talking it out and resolving it. Like some previous posts said, people exact their revenge on others that may have hurt them in the past. People today would rather squeeze a trigger than fight with their fists. Any real bouncer working in one of our major American cities knows that a club patron may up a pistol in his face. If they don't, they may find out the hard way. On top of that, would a club owner really want to hire someone who constantly brawls with the trouble makers. If he were to really hurt them, the bouncer, the business, the City that gave the business a license and everyone in between would get sued. For some, it's the American way isn't it? For some, the American way is also with the gun, isn't it. It's too bad but very true.
