Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below Need some serious advice here. I seem to have this problem with a friend. I have known this guy for about 15 years. We were best friends for several years but as with anything in life time moves on. Now the the fucker still calls everyday. We have nothing in common at all except stuff that happened 10 years ago when we were kids. I like him as a person but its what he does I don't like. He is off into all kinds of illegal shit that I'd rather not be part of. Lives going in separate directions etc..... Just one of those things from the past that should stay in the past. I have tried blowing him off not returning phone calls, and the like, but still he doesn't get it. WTF? He is 24 and still acts 14. How do I get this monkey off my back????? Suggestions?

Have a serious talk with him and explain that because of his illegal activities you feel being close mates isn't on, because you disapprove. Also be frank, explain that you have grown apart and that you'd like some personal space. Yes, it's a really woman thing to say, but this stuff actually has its place. Suggest that instead of calling you every day, you do something like go bowling/watch a football game once a week. And if he calls make sure that you are not available to take the call, use an answerphone and call screening.
Chances are this guy has some serious issues and you don't want to get dragged in unless you really, really care. And never lend cash to people who drink hard or do drugs, or they will hit you for it again and again, even 5 dollars.... trust me on this last one. I had a "friend" who used to hit me for cash all the time...
Or you could wear a chicken suit every time you go somewhere together, that'll soon get rid of him...

Same here I have alot of friends that are locked up or out on the streets doing no good for society but still call me there friend too. Now that I am out of high school I try to keep my distance because nothing good will come from being around corrupt individuals.....let me see I don't think that you have to part ways with your friend just tell him how you really feel about him and how you got your life and he has his. Anyway, it's a tough situation to be in especially if you guys where once close.
