how should i do this??

Ok i'm back now after all the holiday/ new years break. I just got my preacher curl last night and hooked it up can't wait to use it. Now today is my chest/bis workout and i'm a little confused see i have one bar, so i don't want to superset my flat bench with my preacher curl but want to hit the preacher first b4 my barbell curl. So i'm think of doing it like this=

superset
Inclined Bench 5x5
preacher curl 5x5

flat bench 5x5

then barbell curls 5x5

i was just wondering if this looks good or if some one had any suggestions for how to set this up thanks.
 
Looks like too much 5x5 to me, any reason why your doing 4 exercises of 5x5?

But besides the rep/set thing, it could look alright, but that would depend on the rest of your split as well... ;)
 
well they are pretty much to failure i'm doing chest and bis today 10sets per body part 5x5 for bulk. (needsizes routine) my split looks like this

Monday chest and bis
tuesday off
wednessday legs and lats
thursday tris and shoulders and delts
friday sat and sund off

now i posted here earlier about my routine and that how i came up with that i've gotten great results on it i just now got my preacher curl. so i thought it would be a little confusing how to arrange chest and bis day. thanks for you help

i don't mean to flame, but are you crazy? legs and back on the same day?!?!

just a suggestion (i believe this is needsize's as well)
mon - calves/chest
tues - back/delts
wed - off
thur - tris/bis
fri - quads/hams/calves
sat and sun - off

i like it.
 
whats wrong with legs and lats i work them both prolly 15 sets each. I do this legs and lats so i can do deadlifts and not effect overtraining my legs if i did back on a different day.

Why aren't you squatting?
 
oh now i am heres' what my wednesdays look like "legs and lats"

superset
squats 5x5
lat raise "2 arm" 5x5

legs extesions 5x5
then lat pulldown 5x10

calf raises 5x15
lat raise "1 arm" 5x5
deadlifts 5x5

1) Lat raises are for your delts.
2) Drop the extensions for a better movement. Front squats, leg presses, hack squats, etc.
3) Don't squat and deadlift in the same day. You will burn yourself out easily.
4) Make a new split bud. Separate legs and back by about 3 days. If you are looking for mass, include some of these exercises

Legs:
Squats
Front Squats
Leg Presses
Stiff Legged Deads

Back:
Deadlifts
Barbell Rows
Pullups
To a lesser degree: T-Bar rows, face pulls.
 
why should i not do legs and back same day?? I'm just wondering if you think there is a reason for it cause i've posted here many times my routine and i've had no critiques really. Its working for me. Now with leg presses and shit i can't get to i'm at my house (set up and bought a lot of equipment to mimic gymn) so i have to settle for extensions. and those lateral raises i feel a lot in my lats so it must work out my lats bro

Perhaps you're calling them something different?
If you are feeling them in your lats more than your delts, you're doing them incorrectly.

Like leatherface said, there is no way you can give 100% to both exercises if done in the same day. You really should separate them for optimum performance broly.
 
By "Lat raise", you do mean lateral raise right? If your doing those correctly, i dont see how you can feel much in your lats. They do nail your delts(especially the medials) pretty hard...

well lat raises by holding a dumbell out to my sid and bringing it straight up??

okay well heres what i'm gonna do than
wednesday legs
squats 5x5
leg extensions 5x10
lying leg extensions 5x10
and calf raises (weighted) 5x15

then on friday do my back and delts
lat raise 5x5
lat pulldown 5x10
(i'm not sure what they are called but where you have a barbell and pull it up to your face for your delts and traps??)5x5
bent over Rows 5x5
deadlifts 5x5

how does that look?? i have a lot of sets in there but they will be done in the right way hard and intense if it get too much then i'll lower sets but for right now i'm gonna go heavy and hard.
