How old is your computer?

Mine is some self-assembled piece of shit from a friend - made in China and other parts God knows where it's made from. Still works though.

Will sooner or later purchase a decent notebook.

1 month i just bought a laptop

2.5 year old laptop, still going great but im itching to buy another one and use this one as a movie server...the other laptop i use as a movie server is too slow and could use more drive space..

ahhh - probably about 6 months - can't recall for sure. I make shit up when I don't know. It runs nice. 3.2 Hyper Threading with a gig of RAM, using RAID. Custom-built machine.

I did have problems at first that drove me nuts, but those ended up being the power supply. All works fabulous now!

2 weeks:

ahtlon 3500
1gig 3200 ddr
6800 geforce - EVGA

12k 3dmark 03, booyah

Mine is getting quite old but I don't see any reason to change it

for 99% of its purpose you don't need the latest high tech new war machine

Holy shit! I got this Gateway in 1998. lol It's a P2 400mhz 12G. The only thing I did toit a couple of years ago was change the 186? to triple 500 something for making it quicker or whatever. lol Yeah I know my shit...lmao. Anyway, it's holding up fine except that I'm now holding a lot of pics I take from the digi cam and it's time for a new PC with more space.

Also the windows 98 is toast and needs a change. Beat that fuckers. 19 freaking 98! I bought it for just under $3000 lol

This system recently celebrated its third birthday. It's a 2.0G P4 on an Asus motherboard, and it's still going strong. It really doesn't feel obsolescent at all. Yet.

My laptop is a four-year-old PIII/800, and it is still surprisingly adequate too. Both are running XP Pro.

I'm coming clean since the "confession" thread. This is about the time I should have posted 3 or 4 different types of PCs with different dates, but NO... I won't do it! I'm sticking with my original 1998 year of purchase. I'm so honest.

So damn honest.

probably close to 5 yrs old, but it's got two Xeon 1.8ghz processors and a gig 'o ram so it's still quite snappy.

A little over 2 years old. Dell Dimension 4550 w/ Pentium 4.

Mine is almost 2 yrs old ,i got it from Extreme Machines, just did some upgrades Christmas to make it 100 Times faster.

^5 on the Asus motherboard.

Havn't had the new computer for 2 months yet. Nothing spectacular, just a 2.4g processor, 512mb ram, 256mb vid card, DVDRW, and 2 hard drives. Since I don't do any gaming, it's a great setup for me. Bonus to the motherboard I picked up is that I can definetly put a 3.4g HT processor in it, so in a year or two when the prices drop on them, I'll upgrade processors.

The 2nd computer I've had for 2 years now. AMD950, 1gb ram, 32mb video card. It got the job done, and is still in use. It's also maxxed out as far as processor goes, and can't put more than 1.5gb of ram in there. That's become the "kids computer." Brats are spoiled. When I was a kid all we had was a MacSE.
