How often should i switch up exercises?

yo, ive been lifting since around february. everytime i lift, i change which exercises i do from the week before to 1) for the hell of it and 2) to not get bored. is this good if i wanna gain muscle mass? or should i stick with one routine for 2 weeks? 3 weeks? 4 weeks? on a side note, i usually lift for a month and take a week off. thanks
 
You should switch up reps, intensity, volume, etc...every 4-5 weeks. You can switch the exercises as often as you want, but keep the staples in there:

squats, deads, pull-ups/chins, dips, bench, etc...
 
speaking of dips, i workout at home with just a bench and a small cable station. you have any ideas of a household way to set up a dip station?

I'd just buy a machine...You can get a dip/pull-up station for like a couple hundred bucks...maybe less.
