alright all jeep people..i was thinking of buying an old wrangler with a not working transmission...(for a project) and buying maybe a faster engine...w/ something like a camaro engine or something....how much do u think i can put this together for inclding parts and labor becuase i dont know how to do any of this??

maybe under $3000??

thanks

Hey, so your telling me you wanna take an engine from a GM car and put it into a chrysler?
I've never heard of this being done before but I doubt the engine from the camaro would bolt up to a Tranny from a Jeep if you decided to reaplce it with another jeep transmission. Anything is possible but labor alone your looking at more than 3,000. Parts for the driveshaft etc etc would probably have to be custom made even if you used both transmission/engine from a camaro. Plus the camaros faster engine is a 350. Im not sure of the space requirements for it but a jeeps engine compartment may be too small, especially since you have to bolt on the accessories. In addtion to all of that the computer has to be changed. It seems like more trouble than its worth and even if you did manage to actually do it, you might end up with more problems than its worth.
Your best bet is to keep everything within the same company so parts are easily accesable. Theres a lot of companies out there that specialize in jeep customization and probably thousands of things you can do to it that would increase its power and improve its appearance...

thanks man..do u think i could find a decent running wranger that looks somewhat decent...for like 2500?? thanks man

Wrangler have one of the highest resale values, so good luck to you on the under $2500

A smallblock chevy engine will fit in a CJ and Wrangler without alot of conversion and it will match up close to the motor mounts, but it's going to cost at least $5000 to do it right with the right tranny, differential, and clutch
