How much water......how much pee???

Ok, this is a bit strange for a post but I've got to ask. How much water does everyone drink? How many times a day do you pee? I drink about 3 gallons and day when training. If I'm at work I drink about 1 gallon. I just can't drink all that water while at work. I would end up pissin' my pants. Everyone thinks I'm crazy (for lot's of reasons) because I piss all day long. My wife thinks I'm rubing off on our 3 year old son! He thinks he's me, and has to drink all day and piss all day. Really funny...I think. Nothing like your 3 years old saying "We need to drink somemore water and go pee.....right Dad???" I'm going to count tomorrow and see just how many time I piss. Maybe I should start peeing in the back yard so we could save some money on water!!

LMAO! That's cute! At least you're "well-flushed". I drink about 1.5 - 2 gal water / day. When I finally get a good fat burning rate going - it gets wild -I'm dried out all the time andn hitting the bathroom like 1/hour. Its not a bad thing. But it sometimes does make people think you have a leak.

damnnnnnnnnnnn 3 gallons?!

I don't drink nearly enough as i should, i drink maybe 2-3 different times a day of water, of about a 15 ounce cup. Most of the times i'll forget to drink, making me dehydrated and pissin the yellow instead of the clear. From now on, i'm going to start drinking more water..
oh yeah, i piss..........maybe 5 times a day :p

......and then I eat the plastic bottle and piss on the floor by the cardio equipment with my shirt off!

2-3 gallons of water per day probably isn't necessary. I would stick with 1.5. It should reduce the amount of times you have to go pee. I feel your pain though, it gets a bit frustrating at times LoL.

About 1.5 gallons of water here, but typically I'll go out to eat and I drink a lot of Pepsi/Coca Cola. Not because I can't get enough or the taste, I somehow have a habit of always having to have something to drink. So all that sodium builds up my water and the Team Leaders are used to my schedule to relieve me for a Pee break on Tuesday/Wednesday. But I sweat so much at work I really don't have to go as much as I should.

I use my job to lose my weight, part of a cardio thing and it works. I'm just lucky I work at a factory instead of a mail room somewhere running down the hall ways throwing packages at people.

Stay away from those sodas bro. That shit is bad news.

Ok.....

About 20 times today. That's crazy. Am I going to be one of those old men that piss his pants at the store all the time? Great.....

Oh I know they are. The weeks I don't eat out I have 0 soda. All milk, water or sometimes orange juice. But now at night when I'm hungry I drink water instead, I think I get hungry because I'm bored. So now I pre-occupy myself with Civ 4 or some IRC network. I work 2nd shift so all my friends are in bed and I have to stay up, mostly because of my body's natural clock.

one can of soda has about 40g of sugar in it......stay away at all costs!

I drink anywhere from 8-10 L of water a day ... it just works FOR me ...

In the winter a water pipe burst out front of my office & they called to tell me I better not come in until the water was back on :)

Every 30-45 minutes ... easy ... cute kid ... :)

In general, you should be consuming 2.0 - 3.0 litres of water per day to maintain correct hydration levels. However, other factors need to be considered to get an exact amount. Physical activity (ie: exercise, sports, work related), your environment, altitude, and illness can all have an affect upon correct hydration requirements. You will also have to take into account that your water consumption will also be coming by way of foods and not just beverages. Some foods are >90% water, whereas others are much less.

It is also important to remember that if your are performing any physical activity that you should be replacing electrolyte levels and not just water levels. Isotonic and hypotonic sports drinks can be consumed prior to and during physical activity. Hypertonic drinks are more suited for use after physical activity to replenish electrolyte levels, hydration, and glycogen reserves.

Sports Drinks (use only with physical activity):
  • Isotonic:
    200 ml of orange juice
    1 litre of water
    1 gram of sea salt
  • Hypotonic:
    100 ml of orange juice
    1 litre of water
    1 gram of sea salt
  • Hypertonic:
    400ml of orange huice
    1 litre of water
    1 gram of sea salt.

Just a note of Caution: Due to the sodium content and the fact that you have a young child, make sure that he doesn't have access to your sports drinks.

As to your urine output, it should not exceed 2.5 litres per day. If it does, then you would need to look at causes such as:
  • excessive fluid intake
  • caffeine
  • alcohol
  • high sodium intake
  • diuretics or other drugs
  • diabetes
  • hyperglycemia
  • renal problem(s)
  • sickle cell anemia
If you can discount all of the above causes with the exception of the excessive fluid intake as the cause, then you should not be too concerned. Just make sure that you are replenishing your electrolytes at the same time so that your body will function at optimum levels.

Hopefully you managed to read through all of that without having to stop and pee. :D

Maybe so... but your gonna be huge and shreadded! I say take it to 5 gallons even. That way you can just fill up a delivery size orzaka bottle and lug that fugger around...ESPECIALLY to the gym....that is way better than some tiny little gallon jug. :)
