How much slackery can you get away with at work?

For the last month or so, I've been spending a large amount of my work day here on C&C, but I still get a bit or work in. The last two days though, I've not done one ounce of work what so ever. I guess my downfall is that I have a good rep here and I tell my boss what I am going to do or what projects I'm working on instead of wayting for him to tell me. So, when I'm not seen it is just assumed that I am busy at my desk. I've been absent somedays and will call my boss later in the day to ask him a question or tell him about something important that needs to be done while I'm out and he'll be like "I didn't even know you weren't here". This is gonna fuck me in the end though, unless I get some work done. I have a couple of projects that I keep saying "I'm still working on them" each time I'm asked about them, I really need to have something done in the next couple of days.

Can you slack off this much at your job?

Everyday. I do the same exact thing. I do what I want here. I think though, it's all about how efficient you are with your time. LIke me for example, Im a great with time management. I get all my work done and I dont have to work that hard. Other people doing my same job work a good 10 hours maybe more per week. Go figure. So, to answer your question, yes i slack. Daily.

i slack of that much x3. i would say in any given week, i probably do 15 to 20 minutes of real work

I usually work evenings, and my boss leaves at 4:30, so I can do as little/much as I want. Just have to make sure to make it look like I got a decent amount done.

do your work fast and well, keep a log of your accomplishments and you should be fine. Have that ammunition at hand in case you ever get challenged on your work ethic and competency.

If you can do the work of 8 hours in 4 hours -- more power to you. Much better scenario than people who work slow, or work dumb or struggle. Which means if things got tight, and deadlines loom -- you can blow the crap out of the other people at the finish line.

I never knew this world existed. Holy shit! I was lucky to get straight pay for 50-60 hours a week I worked.

I admin a small computer network so I have alot of down/alone time. I don't really abuse it though; I work when I have work to do.
