how much protien each meal can you eat?

some tell me 45-55g per meal that is all tou will absorb, and some say it doesnt matter eat as much protien as you can 75-100g if you can
 
this issue has been debated and argued over and over without a conclusive resolution.

my opinion is that you should stick to 1.25g of protein per pound of lean body mass.
 
and from what we've heard lately, ginger root will help you absorb as much of that as possible I have been experimenting w/1 gram before each meal.
 
take my word for it

if you eat three carb solution protein bars (60 something grams of protein ) at once followed by a nice helping of peanuts (plus 2 bags of that new reeses sugar free peanut butter cups ) , your gastrointestinal system will be
put through an intense battle.

36 Hours later and my intenstines are still flatulating.

( side note: I had popped 2 clenbutrx caps and started my evening cardio, about mid-way through I got this INTENSE craving for food, I mean so intense I got off the elliptical trainer, soaking in sweat, threw on my jacket and ran up to 7-11 and bought the above mentioned items, ran back home and chowed them down.

This is usually the point in my diet where my body tries to make me gain back the weight I lost by giving me intense cravings, I won this time! .. I cost me a little, my room is now a biohazard zone, but I won!

One cool thing, I can actually force everything 'out' by massaging my stomach and intestines and push everything through, it's weird but it works, you can get the same effect by laying on your stomach and just putting like 80 pounds of weight on it, it will 'force' everything out :P
 
I say that 40 to 50 grams is the max per meal, I have seen people take 100 to 150 grams at a time, but I think most of its wasted. People like to take too much creatine and too much protein at a sitting, they think if some is good, that lots is better.
 
I've read loads on this and none have really given any good scientific facts. Its feasible that a 220lb guy can absorb more per sitting than a 170lb guy but not proven.

I just try to consume 30-40g every 2 - 2.5 hours. Once you get into a routine its great and if I know I've got loads of protein on my plate like an extra 40g over the already 30g ingested, I'll leave it til later.

Protein costs alot, probably not wise to scoff as much as poss only to have your body only absorb halve of it.
