this is not counting eating out. i want to start a healthy lifestyle again, and since i have a good job now, i want to buy stuff and cook it myself.. cuz mommy's cooking has calories up the ying yang. i was thinking 400 a month should cover it.. minus the occasional eating out. ofcourse this is an optimal protein/carb diet for martial arts, running and weight lifting. so will 400 bucks cut it? i need: bread, water, milk, juice, fruits, flour, various baking stuff (powder, cinnamon, etc) eggs, chicken, beef, salmon, tuna, peanut butter, nuts, and ofcourrse protein powder and snythol.

I eat out a lot.

But on days I eat in I'd say I spend about $3 for breakfast, $5 for lunch, and $10 for dinner..

so 18 a day = 540 a month (30 days).

Some days are more, some less.

Decent meet is expensive though, especially the fish I get.

Good lord at 1200 a month. I would say I spend around 300 a month. And I would be willing to be bet this is the most expensive place for food in the United States. My groceries are typically around 60 bucks, then I will eat out maybe once or twice week, never for more than 10 bucks. So somewhere around 300. I get a lot of free food though. Somehow I score it pretty regularly, both from roommates, work, and friends.

Let's see, I barely eat out now (since we have the little baby with us, but that is about to change), so we eat home all the time. We are 3 adults and 1 baby (who eats like he is bulking, wait, he IS bulking!!!)

I spend about 600€/month on food, as Lestat says, Fish is expensive: I eat a whole lot of salmon, Hallibut and Anglerfish (MOFO is ugly as a MOFO but it's SOOOOO tasty)

Chicken breasts are not expensive, but when you eat 4/day it kinda adds up.

Since Baby-milk is 10 €/pack and the little rascal drinks a pack every 2.5 days, that alone is 100+€/month... so make that 500€/month for 3 adults (basically me, the other 2 aduls make 1 meal/day)

For you, that is like 650US$
