And how often do you run your ac/heater? How many square feet in your dwelling? Is it apt. or house?

Heat or AC everyday....about 3000sq feet home. This is run on a heat pump. Monthly bill runs around $200.00. Additional heating provided by gas fire is about $400.00-500.00 per year.

Hope this helps!

That's cheap as hell for a house that big. I'm getting ripped off. Who's your utility company? And what's a heat pump?

Trane...they cost a little more upfront but are worth it for the long haul. The heat is transfered to a blower unit which pumps heat/air throughout the house. This is an older unit but works like a charm! I have it serviced on a quarterly basis to ensure optimal condition. Service runs about $200.00 per year for this...but well worth it. Dominion Power is the utility company. Some months run as low as a little over $100.00 and some in excess easily of $300.00.

What's your bill & company?

It was $115.00 this month, but I never ran the ac/heater. I have TXU electric. Live in Texas. I think there are cheaper companies and I'm about to switch. They're gonna come and test my meter to make sure it's working properly. If it's not, they will have to reimburse me for a year's worth of high electric bills.

Hopefully you have a bad meter. Have you thought about having a service company check your unit (after the power company checks your meter)? They are faily inexpensive....and if they find a problem that reduced your monthly bill....they're worth their weight in gold!

Good luck to you!
