How much is it?

I've always wondered this.

How large is a pound of fat and how large is a pound of muscle. As in, if i were to dig into my body and pull out a pound of fat, how much area would it take up?

I think pound for pound fat takes up 4x more space. It might be more. Think about it, stand a fat 200lbs man next to a lean 200lbs man, lean man look smaller. That is another reason why it's better to use the mirror insted of the scale.

Wow, thats a huge difference :eek2:

I only ask because while i've gone from 283 - 216, and a 48-40 pants, 18 1/2 - 17 1/2 or 17 dress shirt, sometimes its tough for me to tell a difference.

Hey bro the best way to keep track of your progress is to take a picture of yourself every other month or so. It will keep you focused.

P.S.
Your doing a great job, keep up the good work. Doesn't it feel good?

i know what u mean bro!!! i can lose 50lbs...and not really feel like i have lost any, but everyone tells me "ohh u look great, have u lost weight" or " ohh yeah you can tell your on a diet" etc. it feels good to here it from someone else but i could imagine how it would feel to see it for your self! i think and i have no studies to back my self up here but i think it may have something to do with atkins...not CKD but SKD. the thing is i think that we lose alot of water in the muscles so it looks like we lose muscle and fat and water but if i carbed up(which i cant right now) then my muscles feel tight and this feeling goes away, so i think u should look into CKD. i cant right now as i have to much weight to lose, im trying to do what u did . lose weight(425 to aleast around 250 i hope) then start adding some real mass!!!! HELL YEAH!!!

Yeah, thats exactly what i'm doing. I'm researching making a transitional phase from the Maintenance or Ongoing Maintenance Phases of Atkins into a CDK diet to start putting on a little muscle. I have no desire to be huge, but i would like to at least be able to bench my body weight with ease and stay flexible.

I basically have about 1 1/2 years left before i graduate school and get into the job world (which is law enforcement for me) So i'm keeping myself on a Schedule :D....which is tough when your a procrastinator. But hell, i'm good at it ;)
