How much illegal shit do you have on your computer?

Having just installed the latest version of BlackIce Network Defender, courtesy IRC, I realized that I havn't actually paid for software for about 4 years now.

And then there's the games. And music. And the movies.

Do you guys ever feel guilty about having illegal software and shit? I mean, it is theft, there's no way around it. I feel kinda bad about it, but at the same time if it's free and illegal, I'm gonna use it.

What about you guys?

why would anyone post about illegal stuff on their computer?? Especially with the exposure EF got.

It's probably the booze. *hic* :D It's not like i'm selling copies of XP or anything...My O/S is legit and registerd, but fuck i'm not paying $50 for a game, or $20 for a CD. Drop the prices on that shit and i'll think about it.

And, um, I think plenty of people post about illegal things around here. It is a steriod friendly board after all.

In college I couldn't afford even the student versions of the 3D software I was using. So I had pirate copies of those. As well as video and audio processing stuff. A few games, and Office and stuff like that.
Now that I actually have money, I just buy the stuff. That said, I have a cd of XP Pro so that I could learn it all, but I haven't had that computer on in awhile - next time I start it up, I'm switching over to linux on that one. And I think one of my systems still has a pirated Office on it.
The thing that I do now that I'm bad about is just using one copy on the computers in my apartment - but I don't think the companies are as freaked about that as they are about a company doing it. One license being spread over my 4 apartment computers that I am the only person using is much different than it being spread over 400 different users in a business that is making millions of dollars.

I registered and owned most of my software until Microsoft (the pioneers of licensing and wealth through software) pulled the following boners:

Created Internet Connection Sharing : So we could all have 5 computers at home, split the bandwith and screw ISPs.

Tied IE and every other piece of crap to their OS, robbing other good idea software companies of market niches.

Started giving me CDs that I paid honest money for that won't let me make a LEGAL back-up copy of. I called to complain that I couldn't back up some of their software and was told to send a letter with my reg.#, receipt, etc. (box-top for Christ's sake) and they would send me a 2nd disk for back-up purposes.

Fuck them and the horse they rode in on .... I pay for cool shit that lets me earn money or makes life easier ... only if the creator is not out to screw me and everyone else.

Knot

I own a pirate copy of Risk. And a CD with women putting extraordinarely large objects in their vagina, I'm not sure if it is legal. It got booted off of Ebay.

I got a question.
Does the BlackIce Defender work for XP?
Is it only for 98,ME and 2000?

Yep, just get v3.5 or higher (actually, I think 3.5 is the highest right now). I had v2.something and all it did was cause system errors.

XP is pirated...everything else was bought fair and square. Am I a sucker? Yeah...I guess so but it keeps that warm and fuzzy feeling inside me there. I would never pay for XP. It just isn't worth it.

Thanks bro.

I've been gone for a while but since this post is right up my I alley let me see:

Windows XP
Office XP
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Premier
Winfax

Those are the biggest software packages I can think of. I guess those would run about $2,000 retail. Which I paid zero for. And let's not forget the hundred's of MP3's (which I acutally have about 1/3 of on CD's I legally bought). And I normally have atleast 1/2 a dozen movies that are in the movie theatre on my computer at any given time. I guess that all makes me a thief and pirate but I sleep like a baby every night.

Everything is all a-okay and paid for on mine. My dad's company had extras of a bunch of office software etc so I got all of that for free. Lovely. All of the games etc are paid for as well. I don't have much music on this computer but I had a ton on my old one (there was a wall fire at my parents house and my computer literally got fried).
