How much glucose post workout?

I have read a bunch of posts about people taking anywhere from 10 to 100 grams of glucose or dextrose post workout along with some whey protein. How much is really necessary? I am cutting now, but, want to give the glucose/protein post workout a try. Currently I just take 40grams of whey right after workout followed by a balanced meal about an hour later.
I have access to glucose tabs for free (don't ask) :)

The tabs are 5grams each. Would popping a few of these along with some protein by beneficial or do I need a higher dose? I don't want to put on any fat, but, am curious about helping to shuttle the protein into the muscles more effectively.
