How Much Does Your Kids Cell phone Bill Run Ya'll?

My daughter is fixing to lose hers it has averaged over 100 for the last 4 months. This dad is pissed. What do ya'll that provide cell phones for your kids bills run ya'll?

I'm not a parent. If I had a child my child would not have a cellphone unless they could afford to pay for it themselves. Prepay phones would best be suited for this. When they run out of minutes either they buy more or they stop talking until they have money to buy more.

That said, I had a cellphone long before either one of my parents did. It was in my mom's name but I made the payments every month. Had my first cellphone when I was 16. Never have either of my parents paid for my cellphone usage.

Our stepdaughter is on our plan with her own phone & she pays for the overages she runs up.....she usually goes over the minutes & text messaging, etc & she is responsible for the charges....

1) There is no reason for a kid who's not driving to have a cell phone and 2) there is no reason they should not pay for it themselves....

upgrade ur plan, there is no way in hell even a girl my age can use all the minutes from an 80 dollar plan. im guessing u have her on like a 40 dollar plan and she goes over alot of minutes? 80 dollars gets u 1200 peak minutes with verizon, and verizon is the most expensive where im from........ even 60 gives u 800 which is hard to hit, im 16 too and use the phone alot, i dont go over my 500 minutes ever. If u have verizon make her an acct on verizonwireless.com and check her minutes once a week. let her know shes paying the extra. if she cnt afford it she should get a job or she doesn't need a phone!

I have no fixed line, live alone, and talk frequently to people and mine has never been over $50 a month.

$100 is extremely high. I try to cut conversations short during the day and save the more longer conversations until free nights & weekends.

A lot of coworkers give their kids the kinds of cell phones that have the prepaid cards instead of the minute plans. That way the kiddo can't go over what they're supposed to.
