How much does the thick 8' olympic bar weigh?

I'm not talking about the standard 45lb 8'bar but the one that is a little thicker? Is this a standard?

Bump this - I'd also like to know. My gym has a few of these interspersed with the regular oly bars, and I always have to check carefully to make sure I use the regular ones (otherwise I have no idea how much weight I'm using).

I am guessing 55lbs. Then again I could be wrong. . .run a seach on google.

I'm guessing 55lbs too. Maybe 50. I just switched to the thick bar when I started my cycle so hopefully after all is done I'll be able to keep the same weights just move back to the regular bar.

well, that fat bar feels heavier......my bud told me it weighs 50lbs.

but, another bud of mine who says he knows the guy(head fitness trainer) that order the bars for our newly remodeled YMCA says their 45lbs. swears he saw them listed in the catalogue at 45lbs.

if its 1 1/4 inch @ 8ft ( like a texas squat bar ) it should be 55#
