He was in for assult with a deadly weapon(gun to her head), domestic violence and some other little charges. This was all against her. She is really having a tough time dealing with it now that the time is coming and he will be out soon. She cries every night. It tears me up. She tells me the things this fuck used to do to her. He does not deserve to live. She is afraid that he will go after her family if he cant find her b/c he told her he would before. I want to hire a Private investigator to follow this fuck around for a while once he gets out, find out what he is up to. If I find out he is doing anything suspicious, ie driving by her parents, looking for her ect. I am going to have to put a beating on this skinny little twig. Need to get a idea of how much it will cost for a PI and what kind of info can they obtain? Can they tap phones and shit? Thanks

Depending on your locale, PI's vary in price. I've seen anywhere from 50-150 per hour depending on the job.... Go for the restraining order first though. Also, if you have any cop friends, after she gets the order, ask your friends to pay him an unofficial visit to let him know he's not welcome around her or her family./....

the only experience I have with them is from movies.
there are two types:
1) they are usually fat, sweaty, and eat a lot of junk food.
they will drive older American cars, and they are inept with handguns. if you catch them following you, they will easily divulge all information they have on you if threatened while they fumble with said handguns.
2) they are wild killing machines. more of a bounty hunter than a PI. they are ruthless and cunning and will stop at nothing to get their man - even though several potential love interests will come up along the way - that will not distract them as they go for the task at hand. they drive very quickly, usually in fast, sleek, European sports cars.
if I had to choose between the two in this case, I would go with the latter of the two, but they are likely more expensive. be warned that the person you set them loose on might not survive the experience.
I'd guess you could look in Vegas, Texas, or NYC for men of this caliber. California probably has them, but they are sissies.
