how much do you tip the pizza guy?

god, what a cocksucker. this guy was sorta pissed that i didn't add his tip on my charge card and i gave him a handful of change ($2.00-something). i'm a poor student, not some big baller. i could have driven down the block and picked it up myself.

it was only a $5 pizza too.

they have a delivery fee for almost every place here - it's a buck fifty or something.

I just throw a couple on top that

i dont know where you get your pizzas but when i order from papajohns, dominos, or pizzahut, it costs at least 15-25

i bought a large sausage pizza for 5.99 plus tax and my delivery fee. it was like 8.50 then i gave a $2 and some change tip.

that was tipping more than 20%

It depends on how long they take to get to my door from the time I called. I start with $4 at 30min, I take away $1 every 10min after that. If they take 1hr or longer I give them the change.

I don't know any pizza places around here that will make a delivery for a $5 pizza.

that's why you should use the coupons they give to students on campus.

I don't tip people for just doing their job. If i don't have the exact money i'll tell him to keep the change (if the change is 50 cents or something), but i won't go out of my way to tip someone just for doing their job.

well, just keep in mind they might tend to remember where the bad tippers live, and give your pizza an extra topping of man-spray the next time you order....

from my 'campus cash' book:

domino's pizza:
1 small 1 item pizza: 3.99
1 medium 1 item pizza: 4.49
1 large 1 item pizza: 5.49
1 extra large cheeze pizza: 5.99

if you're in a college town then he should STFU because he's lucky to be tipped at all. At home I tip em about 5 bucks, but here its about a dollar depending on the circumstances.

Their pay is dependent upon tips. If you're at a restaurant, the waitresses make less than minimum wage, on the clock, because they are tipped personnel. If you don't tip at least 15%, you're a piker.

I had a $9.97 pizza delivery tonight, and tipped $2. I'll tip $2 for any pizza delivery up to $14, then I up it to $3.

@ p0inkers......you did the right thing lil' bro. The fucking pizza only cost $5, so really you shouldn't have tipped him at all. Next time avoid the embarrassment and just walk down the fucking street and pick it up yourself. Saves you the drama....

Hope this helps.

I usually tip $5.00 for a plus $10.00 order.

But I guess I look at it this way...If I really wanted to save the extra money I would have drove down there and picked it up myself. I figure the $5 to be the extra price for being lazy... :)

you did not give him a bad tip......my roomate delivers pizza...he gets stiffed all the time.....1-2bucks on 50$ orders........2bucks for under 10 order....what was the kid expecting....a 20....fuckin ass

my friends used to live in this dorm right across the street from dominoes. They would have it delivered anyway and wouldnt tip the guy because they didnt want to cross the street.

Yeah, I usually tip the pizza guy $3.00. If it was a big order, I will go higher, up to 5 or 6 tops. One night my wife and I had some friends over and we were all really drunk and stoned. We ordered a couple pizzas and the total came to like $19.65. I thought I gave the guy a twenty and three singles. I figured that was a good tip. Well, I actually gave the guy a fifty and three singles. He was like, "Wow, thanks, are you sure man?" I was like "Duh, yeah man, it's cool. It's all good in the hood and shit." I was so out of my mind I didn't have a clue. Well, the next time I ordered pizzas from that place, the manager got on the phone and told me my next two orders would be free. I asked why and he said because I had given the biggest tip on record for that store and they felt bad. So that was cool, I guess....... I was kinda pissed at that delivery guy though. What a fuckwad. He had to have known I was retarded at the time. But, it was my fault for being retarded, so I don't know.

you have to love australia, none of this tipping bullshit

if it costs five bucks, you pay five bucks. if someone cant live on what they get paid then they get another job and tell their cheap arsed employer to piss off. i dont understand why the hell you would complicate you lives, economy, and tax system with some bullshit, useless, outdated way of paying someone on top of what your item costs...its just bullshit

if someone tried to overpay me id throw their money in their face

I ordered Chinese food once and the guy came an hour late.. I lived about 4 blocks away from the place and after I got my food and change the MOFO asked why I didn't give him a tip for his services!!! I told him heres your tip "Get the food here in 20 minutes and then you'll get some money" and then I closed the door!!! Needless to say, I never ordered from there again b/c I don't trust those bitches... Chinese is a dime a dozen over here and they all deliver!!!!

It's because our employment system always tries to take advantage of the little guy.

They pay you like $2/hr and believe the tips for doing a good job will make up the difference.

Tipping is not even the worst part, a lot of employers are going towards having you apply as an independant contractor. That means you are responsible for all of your earnings and medical, and you usually have to pay to work.

...Back to the Pizza topic, I grew up in a college community we had 3 Universities and a few Tech colleges. It was dangerous for the Pizza delivery guys, they would always get mugged and get their pizza's taken from them. It got so bad that they had to work in teams.

Thanks to the Bush administration and if they continue to have their way (Republicans) it will only get worse.

And what college did you go to. I'd like to see the little fuckers try and mug me.

I don't think it has to do with any administration, but corporate America in general. Since these kinds of things have been noticeable since the Clinton administration, and yes it is getting worse.

I went to Campbell Univerity in N.Carolina, but this happened when I lived in Minnesota.

I dont tip. people in belgium dont seem to tip anyway. whenever i try to tip in a restaurant or whatever they dont understand and im made to explain they can keep the change or something

which is emberassing because then they are "forced" to pretend they're real happy about it.

About 3-6 bucks. Depending on the size of order and how I like their business. It`s funny because my wife tips less than me and it`s whomever answers the door pays the delivery guy... So I`m sure the delivery guy crosses his fingers and hopes to see me instead of my wife.

Once I came to the door and the guy saw me and said "YESSSSS!!!". lol

Usually about $3 or 4.

Okay, here's a slight u-turn -- are we supposed to tip the carhops at Sonic Drive In, and if so, how much? I mean, they didn't take the order, they just deliver it.

Only if you are trying to get thier phone #. :)

i deliver part time and the tips are what make the money, between gas ,oil changes and repairs there isnt much money in it,when someone leaves me a shitty tip i remember that and there food wont arrive till the last order is delivered ,sometimes ill just keep them in the car and go get more delivers to take first..and always make sure to shake there sodas up as much as i can before getting to the door, hoping there fat asses were sitting in there living room watching tv when they open it and it goes all over there carpet.then they get pissed from taking to long ,and pick it up from then on and then you dont have to worry about ever going back to there.

I tip $2....no more, no less. The places I order from are very close by, so I know the driver isn't out any more than 50 cents in gas maximum on the round-trip.

Oh, btw...I delivered pizzas during the summer in HS one year, and trust me....a $2 tip is plenty if you don't live very far from the place. If you're right at the outer limits of the delivery zone, you should up it to $3. And yes, we remember where the cheap bastards live; we don't spit in the pizza or anything (place I worked for taped the box lid down), but we will be sure to deliver your food last on our run the next time....regardless of where your location is in relation to the pizza place. If a guy has a run of five deliveries, does four of them first, and hits you on the way back...you're getting a lukewarm pizza...and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.

you lot are suckas over there, over here if it is good we tip, if not we don't, it is the buyers choice........which is how it should be
