How much do you pay your electricity?

GoldenDelicious said:
twenny bucks a week usually covers it

you only pay 80 a month. Wow!

Is weird though we dont even really use much electricity well except for AC. ( Is on all the time but its always been on the same temperature which is 75)

I had live in a different place before and we use the same electricity as we do in this place. ( and the ac is always on too)

Actually we use much more electricity than we do in this place but we seem to be paying more. weird!!

AC units work at different levels of efficiency.

When I lived alone in a condo, mine was only about $75 or $80 bucks.

The thing is this place is smaller than the place were living before. Is just weird that we pay more electricity than the other place.

The weird part is the air circulation of the Ac is fuck up because in my room I can't even feel the damn air at all. Its a lot more colder in my roomate room...

I have called the company about this and is been one month now and I haven't got any service. fucking freaking... piece of.............@#4%#3

make sure your vent is open, dear.

well im at that time of year when i rarely need AC, and dont spend a lot of time at home

its gone as high as 400 a week in some places ive lived. depends.

That's the first thing that I did. The maintenance guy in my place even check it and it said the air circulation is fuck up.

oh you live in an apartment? rental unit? maybe the ducts need work, or the fliter or the AC unit motor or something. YOu should call an HVAC guy to come out. If you lived close, I could send my husband and he could do a diagnostic check. Hes really smart with stuff like that even though he isnt HVAC trained.

This month's bill is $155.....that's for electricity & gas....

I appreciate it! I am not sure why the maintenance at my place can't do it. They said the company whoever install the AC is the only one who can fix it. Because they need to take out something or whatever it is to have the regular flow back again. I am not sure if the maintenace check the filter..... He should have. My room is only one that's not recieving any air, every room in my apt is cold.

Well I am not going to stop calling till is fix.... or else I am going to go to the front office and demand my money back. lol

Yes, I am married. I dont work so why not! He had handle this before but like what I said it's been months now and is still not fix. Seriously I am about to go the front office at my place and get my money back. This is just ridiculous!

Mine is around 200$ per month. It's a scam because electricity is a monopoly. We don't get a choice here in Texas. I'd like to see the rates from 20 years ago, I guarantee you the hikes far outpace inflation. They also constantly overbill people. Ooops I'm being pessimistic again.

Call an HVAC guy to come out, do an inspection, fix or repair the issue, then submit the receipt for charges to your landlord and take the amount you paid off your rent. end of story.

If I hire a HVAC guy at my place I have to end up paying it at my own. My place have their own company so i can't just randomly just call anyone.

That's what I been thingking about that they are overbilling people. I should start checking the meter rates at my place to really see if they are billing us the right price.

Yeah my pc's on pretty much all day and I have a fairly big dlp tv. Air's on most of the day too.

Make sure you have good tenants though, or enact strict guidelines for upkeep. Otherwise you'll be stuck with a lot of extra work.

I have two things driving it right now -- note that this is an avg but the number has ranged from cheap in the winter to higher in the late summer -- $60-$110.

- I have "zone temperature control" - so the main floor & basement are controlled by one and the top floor bedrooms by the other. Since I spend most of my day in the basement I can keep the temp at 80 degrees on the main & it stays cool in the basement. The top floor stays at 80 degrees but down to 75 at nite.

- I have lived in Phoenix & S. Florida for the last 20 yrs and I hate being cold - I have no problem w/ less A/C :)

- I'm on a budget so I'm gonna be a cheap fucker right now :)

my point was that your maintenance crew/management/landlord has (have) not resolved the issue and now youre stuck paying $300/month elictric bills - not them. So it would probably be in your best interest to get it fixed, thereby reducing your monthly bill (likely) and also better distribution/flow of cooler air throughout your place.. Then you take the amount you paid out of pocket and deduct that from your next rent payment while furnishing the landlord with your receipt.
