I'm curious what the average pay a bouncer makes in a night in your city? Please list the wage and area your referring to.

Im in southwestern ontario, but not a big city,I know its more there, but in my shit town its anywhere between 50 and 100$ a night, usually starting at 9-930 till 230-3ish

It depends on where you work and hours per night.

I make $150 for five hrs. If i work for someone else then it's gonna be $25 hr.

Btw i'm in NY

yeah ny is going to pay a lot more just because of price of living

Depends if the club is big/small, afterhour or regular....

Usually between 75$ and 150$ for a 5 hours shift. Many clubs are now just hiring security guys and pay them the minimum required by the law (12$/h in the security field). It's less bullshit and liability.

When I was bouncing I got $7.50 an hour plus tips. Tips ranged from $15 to $100 dollars per night depending on business and tenders working. That was in Boulder Co., while I was in college.

It is less bullshit, but not liability. It's like a catch 22 now. Clubs used to hire security companies because they were insurred and bonded but had to pay more money for it. Now they will hire you as house security, work longer hrs, and wind up paying you less because now your "on the books."

Regardless, this industry really sucks ass.

imagine a flash light cop security guard trying to break up a small to medium full scale brawl? i dont see this happening

I wonder what it'd be like to be ron jeremy's fluffer

so basically 10-20 an hour, is it worth the shity you put up with?...i guess you put up with stupid people in any job

The big argument coming from these clubs (those hiring securities or at least, men with such certification), is that if shit hits the fan and someone gets hurt, then they can back their butts stating bouncer "XYZ" did what a reasonable security guard would have done in a similar circumstance. Lots of club owners got owned in court cause of their "mall ninjas" using the wrong headlock or choking someone to death.

Of course this industry blows ass big time. Just too much bullshit to deal with...

ya that means who ever is security is taking on all liability to some degree, if someone gets stabbed or shot your the first mofo to get questioned....

Whats this giving tips to a bouncer all about? Here in the UK, the only thing you get is a pile of abuse from drunks!!!

Where did you bounce in Boulder Scots? I worked at Potters and Boulder Brewery in the early '90s.

The average in my area is $70 a night for regular bouncers. If you are an independent contractor then you can pretty much set your wages and pick who you work with. A friend of mine who bounced for years keeps about a dozen guys around, myself included, to work special events like bike rallies and concerts. I more or less quit bouncing several years ago but I will still work occasionally with my bros that I have known for years and can trust watching my back. My friend tells the promoter/bar owner, whatever, that he and he alone will determine how many bouncers he will need and that he will pick them, and the minimum is $20 per hour per person. Your average bar owner would rather save money by hiring a couple of kids still wet behind the ears, keeping them spread too thin and underpaid. This is a good recipe for lawsuits because the younger bro's are more likely to overreact and hurt someone or get overwhelmed if a big fight breaks out. People who are serious about security would rather pay more for older, more experienced guys who have worked together in the past.
