how may protein shakes

I find that when I really have my act together as far as getting good nutrition along with my workouts, I like to get around 125 or so grams a day of protein coming from shakes. Usually try to average about 3 shakes per day with roughly 40 g's of protein per shake.

I like Met-Rx.

Protien in my oatmeal for b-fast.
Pre-workout and Post-workout,
Pre-bedtime shake, and 3 a.m. shake.

so, 5 times a day-- about 250g protien from shakes aiming around 400g protien per day.

I get 4-5 shakes a day consisting of approx 50grams per shake. I try to equal that with solid food.

Most often I have two shakes a day with about 60 to 80 grams per shake. I also have a tri-o-plex protein bar with a handful of BCAA post workout. I eat a pound or more of lean beef, or boned chicken each day. I have 3 suger free/fat free yougurt with fat free cottege cheese mixed in for1meal daily. Often I will substitute whole eggs mixed with extra whites for some of the meat in my diet. I don't like to let my protein intake drop below 300 grams a day.:)

2 a day miniumum....try to get 3-4......qucik question......99% of meal replacements have malotx. as their carb source......this bad to use as a meal say mid-morning.......couple hours after breakfast.......insulin spike? What if you pop some rala or even metamucil first to slow digestion????

for the people who take in a lot of shakes and are also eating 200grams a day:

do you notice a difference if you drop the shakes or did u notice a nice difference when adding the shakes?

there are times when i cant eat as much real food as i would like but i can always mix a shake but at times if i am going to have 5 shakes a day i just feel like i would be wasting the protein

Please respond :)

I try to limit my shakes to as little as possible. I will try not to have more than 2/day as I would rather take in solid foods. If I am unable to though then I will supp it with a shake. They dont really hold me off that long and that is why I would rather take in solid foods.

Those are really good. The choc/coconut and peanut butter/choc chip and excellent.....VERY moist. All the carbs are complex (oats) too which is nice, and no hydrogenated fats.

I try to take in about 450 grams of protein day. 200 coming from shakes. I just can't eat enough solid food to get it all in so I rely on the shakes to make sure I do. Either way if your getting it from food or shakes it's going to be expensive but if you want to grow its worth the investment.

Artemis_Entreri, I take it your a fan of R.A. Salvatore?

Saw that in the store...grabbed the peanut butter choc chip instead since all I tried prior was the choc coconut.

lemme know how the apple is.
