My packet of steel-cut oats says there are 391 calories in 100g and when I measured 2/3 of a cup it weighed 100g, meaning 1/2 cup weighs 66.7g. Therefore, according to my scales, 1/2 a cup (66.7g) equals (391 x 0.667) 260 calories.

WTF?!? how can my calculation be 105 cals over that from calorieking.com ???

Great, so now we have three sources with different figures...

calorieking.com says 1/2 cup = 155 KCals
My packet says 1/2 cup =260 KCals
Arrowhead Mills says 1/2 cup = 320 KCals

My advice would just be to read the nutritional info on the label of the brand you buy.

Mybe her brand does not have nutritional info, hence the original question? I normally use calorieking while on a hurry and need to look up something quick... if I have the chance, I always take the value from the package I am using...

If its too much hassle we can always have some waffles and pancakes and call it even
