How many rest days is best?

this is a question for on a cycle, and for off of a cycle. I usually work out 5 times a week. when on a cycle, would i need more or less rest. I was going to do a hardcore 2 week cycle and was planning on working out twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. and working out 2 days on 1 day off. what do you guys think is the best ammout of rest days, both on and off of a cylce.
 
i personally think rest is dependent on several factors such as what else do you do in your day(work on your feet or sit at a desk), what's your training split like just to name a few. I listen to my body. I've got a 4 day split, but sometimes I'll finish 4 days in a row and go for another two without a rest day. somedays, I go 2 days and need a rest.

Depends on what you call rest. I do active recovery every day.
 
rest meaning off from the gym? if so i take off about 2 months in total in a year and if you mean weekly, I only get to rest 2 days right now in my current routine.
 
I work from 7AM to 7PM from monday to Saturday(Saturday we close at 1PM) on a meat store and Im always on my feet so at the end of the day Im VERY tired but my body got used to it and I still have strenght to train at 9PM. The two things I dont like about training late is that I get very hype after a heavy workout and I need to go to bed before midnight and the postworkout meal. The food is sitting on my stomach and Im trying to fall asleep. Bottom line: I workout 1 day ON 1 day OFF cause I really need it. I train on tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday.

LMAO - @ HARDCORE 2 WEEKER - LMAO

Okay Bro it is my opinion you need time to heal and I dont recommend to hard workouts in one day. I would suggest 4 days for lifting...2 days upper and abs and 2 days lower body, then use the other three days to cardio or just relax.

You need to give yourself time to recover to reap the benefits of the aas.
 
IMO if your trying to build muscle, doing cardio on rest days would totally be backwards, because ur not truely resting. Also I thought that doing cardio while gaining muscle was a total waste, if you are trying to stay lean you sould just eat less.

But besides that, i have a 4 day split right now, 1-chest, 2-back+shoulders, 3-arms, 4-legs. Abs 3 times a week.

About a year and a half ago, I was lifting everyday and never felt the need to rest. I would rest only about 1 day every other week. I began resting more when i started reading on the forums that more rest is better. I just want to know what you guys feel is best. Is it based on how you feel or how much recovery your muscles need?

IMO, it's based on your body's work capacity, which can be increased.
