How many of you shoot pool?

I play quite often. I was thinking of joining a league and trying to make it to Vegas for the shootout. They won't accept single players.

Any other pool shooters on here?

Used to play all the time... Have a 9' Empire in my game room that gets used about 2 times a month... other than the kids knocking the balls around occassionally. Had to have it tho

I used to.

I wasn't very good... so I bought a pool book, read a lot of sites, and bought a $130 cue.

Then I still wasn't any good.

So the book is under a bunch of other books collecting dust, and the cue is in my closet safely tucked inside its hard case.

Anyone want to buy a pool cue and case? (serious, PM me).

I think I am well above average in skill level. I won 16 games back to back last night at The Alibi. I don't have a fancy cue stick, just those damn broom handles they supply us with.

But still, there is some $$ to be made in Vegas if I can find 2-3 decent players. Just cracking the top ten will probably give 4 people 1000-1200 dollars a piece. And the nice thing is that bars here sponsor you and pick up all the expenses for you to go.

I did a search for 'New Brunswick'. Brunswick brought this thread up. I was after the other thread I remembered.

I'm guessing that this thread is older than the upgrade that allows 'banned' to appear.

I used to play at least 4-5 nights a week 10 years ago, but since I got out of the "bar scene" I seldom have a chance to play anymore. There are a few pool halls around here, but the crowds are pretty rough...not my idea of fun anymore.

I used to play local tournaments 2-3 times a month, and did very well. The rest of the time was spent in bars playing for beer money.

I really miss the game...I wish there were some better (read: "safer") pool halls around here.
