How many chickens??

I go through about 30 lbs or both boneless, skinless chicken breast, and extra lean hamburger. I wonder how much cattle/livestock each of us is responsible to killing? That would be something cool to find out.:jamesbond :jamesbond

That's per month.

I just cooked 2 lbs of ground turkey breast (boiled meatballs), 6 lbs of lean ground beef (baked meatballs), and 4 lbs of chicken breast tenders (grilled). These 12 lbs of meats will provide about 3/4 of the protein my husband and I consume in a week. The rest will come from tuna, salmon, cheese/cottage cheese, and egg whites.

I buy the whole roasted chickens from the grocery store (less than $5, already cooked, at least a couple lbs of meat each). I eat 1/3 of a chicken for dinner most every night (breast one night, other breast the next, and everything else on the third night). While it's still warm, it's very easy to separate the meat from the rest.

Buying boneless, skinless breasts is friggin expensive (more expensive than some of the better cuts of beef, and about even with fresh salmon), and they don't even cook it for you!
