how long must one be clean ?

If a person wanted to lift in a drug-free fed, how long should they be off, or is it that you must be a lifelong "clean" athlete.

i would morally feel clean after one year of being off. 18 months if i was on deca in case it was still detectable in my system. everyone will have a different opinion on this. some will say never be clean, some may say 2 yrs blah blah blah, the main thing is listen to your conscience, and do it when you feel you are able to justify it to yourself

Every federation has a different view on this, some have natural which means 2 or 3 years and some have pure which means clean forever.

Typically organizations don't test but a few guys, just a piss test, and some "look" really clean and some throw weights up that you sit back and say "just ain't possible."

Just let your conscious be your guide, your body will eventually reach an equilibrium and your body will be back where it wants to be eventually.

I personally wouldn't not compete if you haven't been clean as long as they want you to be unless your really smoking everyone else and have somewhat of an unfair advantage.

There's virtually never a 100% drug-free competiton any place you compete.

To further what has been said some feds have different classes. Usually drug free is 2-3 yrs clean. There are some feds that have lifetime drug free status which is usually confirmed via lie detector test. You just have to look into the rules of whatever fed you are going to lift in.

Interesting. I've always wondered how they regulated this. I saw a BB comp a couple years ago that was supposedly "clean." Some of them were too big imo to be clean, but ya never know.

Question, do they consider prohormones illegal or allowed?

If it's a tested fed and it causes a positive then you're screwed. Most of the heavily tested feds have a list of banned substances.

I know WABDL used to allow, and still does, otc stuff and when prohormones were otc they were allowed. Now they are not.

I beleive the USAPL is three years. That is what was told to me by Dennis Cieri, who is a top bencher thier.

I dont know... I would say that whatever their guidlines are is what to go by, as opposed to your own conscience.
When you think about it, it they are lifetime clean and you are 2 years clean, havent you still benefitted from the drugs taking you to a level a lifetime drugfree lifter may not have been able to make it to?

Im just saying... personally Im lifetime drug enhanced and proud of it! :)
