How long for test only to kick in?

Test enanthate 500mg/week.

Those who have done this ONLY (i.e. no dbol or frontloading), how long did it take to kick in?

I have heard anything between week 3 and week 5, but a lot of those have been quotes with dbol and/or frontloading.

I am on day 23 (beginning of week 4) and it hasn't kick in yet. Is this normal, or should it have easily kicked in by now?
 
It should kick in week 4, for some it does from week 3. I dont know why it didnt kick in with u? What brand are you using, and how r u taking it? Once a week, or 250mg/twice a week.

you should have even blood levels by the end of two weeks, and should actually feel it by the end of the first week. It only lasts about two weeks in your system, so there is no way it should take longer than that

I'm taking Norma (pharma grade) and I know it's not a fake. I shoot twice a week - Saturday morning and Tuesday evening (i.e. exactly 3.5 days apart, 250mg each injection into glutes).

I am only at the start of week 4 (first jab was on a Saturday) - are you saying it should kick in during this coming week?

Ouch :( I'm guessing I'm a non-responder to test enan then? Or are the strength gains really slow and gradual rather than a sudden "kick"?

I mean weight gain is coming on fine (although not more than I'd expected from a bulking diet) and I'm getting some of the sides (bloating, aggression, increased libido, constant rock-hard boners bigger than usual). But no major strength gains in the gym - not more than usual on bulking anyway.

Anyone else had this happen?

It's my first "real" cycle. I did var only before for 9 weeks @40mg/day and was slightly unimpressed by that too. My diet is sound (5000 cals/day of oats, chicken, tuna, rice, eggs) and I'm 210lbs @ 6' and circa 12% bf right now (might be lower but I'm bloated).
 
I'm adding Winny 50mg ED from weeks 7-12 btw, so maybe that will help somewhat.

Next cycle will be prop/tren. No more messing :)

you should start to notice some gains this week, my first 2 cycles were test only, my first was test e and about the 4 week mark people could tell something was up. i'm on test/deca now, and it was almost week 5 before "noticable" gains were, well, uh...noticed.. :)

you should have noticed it in week 3, but wait another week, by then you should feel it, and as you saying you sure that they arent fake. When i did test only cycle, i feel it from week 3.

When you say "feel it", do you mean that it suddenly kicks in and you could suddenly go from lifting say 200kg on an exercise to 220kg or more in one session? Or is it much more gradual than that? Is there one day when suddenly you go "shit it's kicked in", or what?

probably test is bunk or its low dose for you

No suddenly, u should gradually feel it unless its your first time, where you r not used to AAS, and u will find the weights your were holding are too light for u,

I can't explain it at all. Maybe I'm a non-responder? I guess I'll give it another week and see if I'm just slow to respond. I do have naturally high test levels.. I don't know if that would affect it.

Eating is fine - 5000 cals/day from clean foods. Training is hard. My weight is up fine - although probably not much more than had I been eating 5000/day without the test. Sides are here :rolleyes: But I've had no abnormal strength gains yet and don't feel ANY kind of "kick".

You won't jump up that much the things you mentioned above indicate it is working Test E at 500mg is more a gradual sustained action, that is over and above your norm. ie. if you increased 2.5 lbs a week on a lift you would gain 5lbs a week. but everything won't automatically double. You usually get a 2x normal increase first 2 weeks after it kicks in.Then as your body becomes adjusted aboiut 25% or more over your norm. depending on your diet and training style.

I guess when people say "kick in", I was expecting something more sudden.
 
I feel it first in the sex drive, by the end of week one I am in the mood all the time, if you grow or not from test you should notice that. 500mg is over 5x what your body produces, so you should definitely notice that. Strength on anything is a gradual increase, 5-10lbs a week on your exercises. But by now you should be holding 5-10lbs of water at least

I am in the same boat bro and was going to post the same question and then I seen your post. I am on my "first" cycle doing test E ONLY @ 200 mgs. every 5th day. I am now on day 19 with 4 injects so far and the fifth inject set for this coming tuesday and I am not feeling all that much to date. A slight increase in libido but I am not a walking erection. I have been getting excellent pumps that last for about an hour after my workouts are finished but no real strength increases so far. No bloat or any other negative sides. I am up about 4 - 5 lbs. in bodyweight. I was going to bump it up to 300 mgs. every 5th day but I decided since this is my first cycle to be patient and do a wait and see approach. What I do notice the most is that my muscular endurance has increased, meaning, after my workout is finished I feel like doing more sets, like I can keep on going but my workout poundages are about the same as before the cycle started.

Below is my bloodwork taken one week before I started my cycle.

STATS: 48 yrs. old. 5' 9", 180 lbs. (now at 185) Lifting natty 22+ years.

Thyroxine (T4) ............... 1.14 ng/ml
Cholesterol total ................ 190 mg/dl
DHEA ............................ 162 ug/dl
Testosterone serum ......... 510 ng/ml
IGF-1 ............................ 127 ng/ml

Thanks bro. Sex drive is up for sure. I have gained 12lbs in the last 4 weeks - BUT that's water weight (my jeans are tight now :( ) and is normal to happen to me when I first start bulking without drugs. I manipulate mass REALLY easily - so was relying on strength to determine whether it's working - and it's the lack of difference in strength gains that is/was worrying me. I have been adding 2.5kg (5.5lbs) to my main lifts each week on your 5x5 routine - but do that while bulking anyway without drugs. I'm unable to add anything much to the 8-10 rep sets. I think I was expecting 5kg+ each week on my compound lifts after a sudden "kick in" of 10kg or so on the test - and it's my expectations that were wrong.

It sounds from what all of you guys have been saying that what's happening to me is normal and that I was expecting a sudden "kick" when actually it's very gradual gains.

Don't worry about it. It will kick in this week or the next. Believe me, I thought my omnadren wasn't going to kick in until this week. Now I am eating every two hours, fucking all the time, and I gained a total of 18 pounds so far. My strength is insane!!! I have been able to put on 40 pounds on everything, I mean everything each week! I contribute most of the strength to the tren but still! Test is the king of all steroids. I am taking 500mg/ week and tren at 75mg/eod. I am getting hard and vascular whilst eating shitty ass food. I get compliments everywhere I go now. It will all pay off soon bro,trust me, don't sweat it. Good luck with your cycle bud!

Tests using 194mg of test ent showed a blood concentration level of 48 ng/ml 24 hours after injection. While we all seem to think that long esters take 4 weeks to kick in, in actuality, it kicks in shortly after injection, however as with all AAS, actual results takes any where from 1 to 5 weeks....so maybe you should be asking how long before you should notice any gains as opposed to how long before it kicks in..........

An update for those interested:

I have now just done my 8th injection, which puts me halfway through week 4. I am starting to notice some nice visual improvements. I am a lot more vascular in my arms and forearms especially and I constantly feel/look pumped. The bloating is still there, but hasn't increased anymore. I am eating mostly oats and eggs now, as it seems to bloat me less than tuna, rice, chicken and beans which I was having a lot of before. I'm still taking in around 5000+ calories/day, all clean.

However, I've still had no major strength gains :( And even missed a 5x5 on chest yesterday which I thought I'd nail easily :( It sounds like strength gains come slowly from test enan anyway and my main focus is mass. But it's just a bit of a bummer.

Delts and back in the morning. Hoping the strength gains will happen soon :)

I bought an amp opener too, which f*cking CRUSHED an amp, spilling my pharma grade norma all over the floor. So I used up 2 amps today :( I will be trashing the opener and sticking with pen lids from now on.
