how long do razors last

i don't like disposable razors (the plastic kind that have the 2 razors built in) as they dull after 2-3 shaves.

so i got a real razor, the type that actually uses real disposeable razor blades. i find that after about 5 shaves with one that the blade dulls and instead of cutting the hair just rips it out.

is that normal, how long should a razor last before it becomes dull and rips hair out instead of cuts it off.

What do you do before you shave?

It helps to soften the beard.


I get about 15 to 20.....I guess never thought about it before.
I always shave after a hot shower and I use good razor...sensatrack(sp).

usually nothing. sometimes i let the foam sit for a few minutes. if i shave in the shower they last alot longer (about 15 shaves).

mach3's are cool, they got a little blue strip to tell ya when to get a new one, but you can go way longer than it tells ya, they just want ya to buy more more frequently... their hella expensive...

they'll rip your ass up when their new though if your not careful

Yeah.... soften the beard....shave when you get out of the shower.

Cool the blade with cold water all the time. Slice right thru that shit.

yeah, my razors do that too. when you first use them you get about 10 cuts on your face, but after that they work for a few shaves, then you end up dulling them so they just rip the hair out instead of cut it. and you start over again. cuts/clean shave/rips hair out.
