How Lo Can U Go?

Hey, when you are cutting how low do you go with caloric intake, list body weight and BF% with cals. Right now i am trying to cut i have gone from 198at16% to 185@11% calories are about 2000 per day 200-210 g protein 100 carbs and the rest fat (just started taking flax) cardio 3x 20-30min per week now going to 4x per week.

P.S. I know about the rule of thumb 12x for cutting 15x for maintaining, I would just like to know what everyone else does.

Hammerdog, at about 170 lbs a erson should be eating about 3000 calories a day to maintain. So figure you are heavier and you are going for 2000. Eventually that will catch up with you.

There are numerous ways you can do this...I have went down as low as 10 X's my bodyweight and never lost too much muscle. However, another way you can go about this is to start at a low calorie level (like 10 X' BW) and add calories every week or so. The later is something MS has stated doing in the past, and I would be a fool to overlook this method (never tried it) in both seeing her past pictures and her credentials.

The first method all you do is start at a level 0f 14-15 times your bodyweight for the beginning. When this no longer is effective, then you can drop down to 13-14 calories times your bodyweight. I have done this to levels of 8-10 times my bodyweight and had no real problems as long as I didn't overdue my activities, etc... However, I almost never go below 10 unless I am getting ready for an event like the Olympia or something...oh sorry, I mean the beach or special events in the year...lol.

The second method is kind of the opposite of the first one...it helps keep the body "upregulated" (I really need to think of a better term than that) before it reaches points of working against you. Since I have never tried this method, maybe if MS reads this post, she can elaborate on it a little better. It just makes sense when you think about it.

Maybe this gives ya some food for thought...

an active person would crash trying to eat 10 x their BW in calories.

That is simply not enough for an active person. You'd feel dead before even you got outside to do your cardio. Talk about a shitty workout

You shouldnt try to lose more than 1% of your bodyfat per week, which would allow you to eat like 12x your bodyweight as long as u remained active, cardio 3-7 days, lifting 3-4 days.

Since when did you take my bodyfat tests? You're wrong, many people can go to 10 X's their BW and have NO problems. This isn't even considering those who use anabolics.

The 1-2% is invalid when one is losing all fat and no muscle. The only reason that rule is advised is to keep muscle catabolism to a minimum. However, if one is not losing any muscle, then there is nothing to worry about. Many obese people can lose a high percentage of bodyfat and not even come close to losing muscle. As bodyfat percentages get lower, like sub-10%, then this rule is more effective, but only from a precautionary standpoint. Also, after thermogenics and ergogenic aids are added for some people, this will also cause an increase as well. A person on DNP can lose trememndous amounts of fat and no muscle.

I have thought about increasing my caloric intake, however is too late? If my body has already adapted to 2000 Cals per day and I jump them to say 2500-3000 range I will be putting on fat would I not? I do not feel lethargic or anything at 2000cals per day, but do you guys think I should bump my cardio up to 5 days per week and eat around 2500 cals per day? The increase of 500 will come from low carb shakes brining my protein intake above 300 per day. I also binge once every 7 days which means a few more carbs each meal and one cheat meal aka. Mc Donalds.

P.S. I hate losing body fat! Bulking is much more fun!
