How is your POST WORKOUT SHAKE ?

VictorBR said:
yep , that is what I was thinking . 80 g .

but could someone go with 100 or even 120 ?

Victor

I always had best results with 125 grams glucose and 15 grams glutamine after my workout. Then eat 90 minutes later

I sip on a drink during my workout that has 40g protein/aminos and 80g dextrose. Immediately after my workout I consume a bowl of mixed fruit(50g carbs) and another shake.

Bleah. I couldn't stomach eating while working out.

I haven't had a shake in a long time. I usually eat 50g protein, 90g carbs post workout.

within 30 min of my workout..

1 1/2 scoops of megaman protein shake
2% milk
2 eggs
1 banana

i blend it up, drink it up, wait about 45 - 1 hr and have a meal.. usually pasta cuz i'm italian and it's always available. woop

As long as your solutiojn is laess than 10% it will actually be absorbed more quickly than water. This is part of the theory of gatorade and other sports hydration drinks. Stomach upset shouldn't be a problem

2 scoops whey in gatorade, then usually some oatmeal and tuna or turkey burgers, i try to eat the majority of my carbs for the day after workout

Why milk pwo?? Eggs?? Raw?? Bananas (fructose) do nothing for glycogen replinishment either, the main purpose of the PWO meals. You may wish to change this up, just a suggestion.

I've done it all PWO.

Everything from a litre of milk to oats/cottage cheese to whey/dextrose.

And do be honest, i've never noticed a difference. Not saying the difference isn't there, but the most important thing is that you get some carbs/protein in your immediately after training.

2 scoops all sport
1.5 scoops orange cream whey protein powder
1.5 cups water
2 ice cubes

all blended up.
take with 10 grams of creatine (I take the creatine straight)

I was told it helps to increase the amount of protein your taking in.. at the gym the protein shakes they offer usually always has banana in it,.. like banana + peanutbutter etc..
Looks like I need to rethink this. I know next to nothing abot glycogen replinishment.. I thought the point of drinking a shake post workout, was to get some more protein into your body to help repair your muscles?

Being totally sincere...how many of the pros do you think pound a glucose/whey shake post-workout? I'll bet very few.......SC - what do you think?
