How in the hell do these wax strips work?

I tried to wax my chest and stomach. I stuck the wax strips on my stomach and pressed them down like the instructions said. Then when I pulled it off only 2 or 3 hairs came off. What went wrong?

ha, they do not work.....sorry. just use a razor....much better.
