How Fit Are You?

Take the Special Ops Challenge to see how fit you are...

Test yourself against Ranger standards, using their recommended scores in pushups, situps, chinups, and a 2-mile run. Fall below the curve? Follow the accompanying training techniques from Michael Mejia, C.S.C.S., author of the Special Ops Workout. Do each 2 or 3 days a week, resting at least a day between sessions.

...personally, these seem fairly easy. I guess these are the minimum standards. Enjoy!

Seems very doable.

OMG I'm now a ranger! jk

that must be the test for fat, alcoholic, retired rangers, with broken legs and arse rot

i could do all of that years ago when i was training like a brothabi.. ahem i mean, a pussy ;)

I don't care how fit I am because I'm fit enough. I thought the heavy bag was going to explode tonight. I am so powerful. I'm afraid to hit someone.

Even when I was a Ranger, the situps always fucked me up.

The "trick" is pushing yourself down fast....that way you get the benefit of the bounce.

To make the Ranger challenge team we had to do twelve chins and score a minimum 265 out of 300 on the APFT after a 10k run in combat boots with a full combat load and a 60lb ruck(8 minute mile standard); Makes the whole test a little tougher after that. I still maxed the fucker and I had to hump the 60 on top of it....sucks always being the "big" guy.

Edit:The max for 18-25 used to be 82(proper) pu, 92(proper) su in two minutes and two mile run in under 11:37.....I always cut it close on the run but we had a guy who consistently did it in 9:00 minutes...

hahaha u won't give up on that will u:P

If that's the test for a ranger I assume all you have to do to be in the army is to be breathing.
Just because that may be a specific test they give you doesnt mean thats even close to what you have to endure.

But yes, these days, you simple have to be able to stand up.
