How easy is it for someone to hack into your home wireless network?

Yeah.

That and the fact that I'm installing some wireless cameras around my house so's I can see whats going one here when I'm out of town. Just wondering if they will be able to see whats going on when I'm IN town if you know what I mean.

It's trivial unless you use WPA and a pre-shared key. However getting into the network is one thing; getting access to data is another. Do your ntfs perms right and you're still pretty well off.

Yeah, I set it up as WPA Personal (128 bit encryption I think), with a high security passphrase. I just wan't to make sure that nothing on my cameras shows up on any of my neighbors computer screens. I couldn't care less if they see what I'm doing online.

WPA2 is alright, but WPA is crackable.

Anyways.... even with just WPA you're gonna be okay. Nobody is gonna spend the time to hack a WPA network at Jack_Schitt's house - it too much work, not enough reward.

So your cameras are wireless and auth to the net with WPA, or they are wired to the net but the same net has wireless links enabled?

Either way, like I said - nobody is gonna take the time to attempt a crack on WPA @ Jack_Schitt's house. THe only other thing you could do is do MAC filtering, but even that can be bypassed.

so you'll be able to watch me fuck your cat while you are out of town? :worried:

Yep, thats it. And I just realized it's WPA2, not WPA. I'm sure no one would try to hack it or anything, I was just curious.

Clock : My cat does like the occasional ass reaming I hear. Not that I'd know.
