How does this Karma system work differently than the last one?

I simply don't understand it entirely.
I know it involves losing karma to give it to someone else, but I dont see how I'm losing it.
I had 922 karma and I just gave someone a positive hit, and I still had 922, I dont see where the loss is coming from, lol.

okay, im sorry i get it now. so what you give is taken away, in exact amounts.

so how does anyone get more karma without taking it away from someone else? are there ways to win it, buy it, etc?
Did they do this because enough karma is already floating around in the system?

i suppose this way no one has to worry about karma inflation

and the guy who just bombed me, did he gain karma from that?

the only way to get more karma now (for free) is to gamble either in the Casino or the Bookie forum. Or buy it.
My guess is they did this cause we had huge karmic powers (they cut them by 65%) and nobody was spending money buying it, cause with like one hit from, for example, Hamstershaver would give you around 6000 karma points.

The guy that bombed you is not getting anything. Its just that hitting with red karma now is for free.

hmm that sucks, with red karma then, the system could gradually lose karma as a whole, and then deflation would occur.

and if someone hits you with green, its a 1 to 1 karma exchange, right?

right. Now, me being plat, I can choose a percentage that I want to hit with. It doesnt mean that if my karmic power is 1121 that you would receive that much. I can hit with as little as 10% of that, that way you receive like 112 and I lose the same amount.
