How does the future look in your profession?

Global competition/outsourcing steadily eats away at many occupations and jobs.

Technological change is rapidly devouring many others.

Changing tastes and values claws away at others.

Sure these changes create opportunities for others. But if your family owned, 76 year old, machine shop in Detroit just closed up....you may have misgivings.

As a photographer, I am overwhelmed by the change in peoples behaviour and attitude towards photographers. We used to get treated well.

Now its a free for all with their little digicams. Some groups are worse than others.

We will working harder for less money...like the majority of the rest.

All I see in the future is death, but I'm gonna have a good time whenever I can before I get there.

Thank god for people that refuse to abide by copyright and trademark laws. Thanks to the Internet, its a lot worse.

I'm not worried at all.

Looks pretty goddamn good. Depends on what side I stay on (agency vs. property), but either way its a healthy industry overall. Major blue chip corps are realizing more and more that traditional media just doesn't cut it, doesn't get the message across and break thru the clutter. Experiental and lifestyle marketing is the present and the future and doesn't look to change any time soon, just get more sophisticated. Different properties are showing different results and the same challenges (showing a REAL ROI, for example) face us now and will face us tomorrow. I'm in good shape. With an industry leader right now and am getting exposure to ALL facets of the business.

as a programmer and lots of experience with indian and ukrainian programmers i am 100% confident that my abilities will never be outsourced.

the future for the US lies in how well it handles foreign technology and talent, for that's where the future lies. Majoirty of this country can barely write an essay.

very very bright - the future of stock trading will be done more and more online - thats were my company comes in...I still can't believe that brokers pick up the phone to call in orders..

wow this is far from the truth

Hard to hire a high school kid into something other than a material handler or something along those lines. By getting a degree it shows that you have enough dedication, determination and discipline to actually obtain a degree no matter what field you are in. It's getting to the point that blue collar work is almost no longer need...see "outsourcing" or "automation"

I think I could get bored quite easily.

Im training for the heavyweight championship of the world. Future looks pretty bright.

Hey...I spent 1/2 the afternoon at the Air Museum at an ex Air Force base.

Really cool shit.

I liked the turret on the origianal B-52s with four .50 cal's hanging out the ass. I assume they were 50 cal's....they got replaced with wood dowels unfortunately.

If it was me, I would have just grabbed the .50 cal's without putting in the wooden dowels. People would notice quickly unless the dowels were really first class.
